Just watched a joe frazier doc. Thought id just say what a true pure Great fighter he was. At his peak he has to rank at the very top of any greatest heavyweight list. This guy was only ever beaten by foreman and ali remember. Joe frazier one of my idols . Just a great fighter.

Not at all. He's been retired for many decades and most historians view him as a guy who was in great fights but he wasn't a great fighter, especially not head to head. If you put Joe in a HW tournament with the biggest and best 20 HWs of the last 100 years he would have a hard time making it out alive.
Yes definitely one of the ATG's of HW's, but don't get carried away. He was nearly ko'd by Bonavena, knocked down a ton, if he fought today people would ridicule him as being glass jawed. He fought a lot of top fighters but also avoided some of the era's best. Brutally ko'd by Foreman, held his own but was ultimately outclassed by Ali, he was clearly the 3rd best HW of his era. I'd put him at #13 all time, which is still the highest I have anyone who was 3rd best of his era.

You're putting demonstrably the 3rd best boxer of his era above people demonstrably the best and 2nd best of their era, and above people he was demonstrably worse than such as Foreman, just because you like him. I can chose to believe 2 plus 2 equals 5, but that doesn't make it true. Frazier can be your favorite HW, just don't delude yourself that he was the best HW. As far as you saying it doesn't matter about getting knocked down and ko'd, I think I'm on safe ground assuming you're one of the people who criticize for Wlad having a glass chin, right? Well, Frazier had about half as many fights as Wlad, was ko'd as many times, and knocked down more. Two of Wlad's ko's were from gassing, while all of Frazier's ko's were from just getting beaten up. Not to mention Frazier was getting ko'd from vastly smaller people than Wlad's. So sure, it doesn't matter a ton, Frazier was still a great champ, just be consistent and apply the same rationale to Wlad.
Ha! Yeah, little 5'11, 210 pound Frazier troubling modern HW's. Absurd nuthugging. He's basically a vastly smaller, less powerful Chisora, who was beaten by a one armed VK. The ironic thing is, if Frazier was magically transported to this time, disguised, given an undefeated record composed of people weighing the same weight as his real opponents, and then matched with a Klitschko, you would cry about how absurd it was they were even fighting such a little guy, most of whose wins occurred at cruiserweight. You'd say it was proof of how horrible this era was, and then you'd discount it when either K brutally ko'd him in the first round, none the wiser it was your hero. Just sad nuthugging, I'm done with you, go read comic books.
