Good fight just not PPV worthy .GBP is not doing the boxing world any favors buy trying to make Canelo into a PPV star with out the mainstream exposure !

my rule is with ppv . if there isnt boxing or stirkeforce on showtime or even a fight on epix on the same day i will settle for wut is on for free, but come sept 8 n there aint no fights but the ppv ill have to order it.

i think canelo beats him wit ease. paul just hasnt been active n doesnt have ne power. and his chin is suspect.

the undercards better be stacked n i hope we get a 24/7 for this.

Canelo fights shitty fighters.. the fact that him and Sergio aren't fighting in September is despicable.. no respect

hope a shot Williams beats him up thought it will NEVER happen.

    better be an incredible undercard.

Fans should be used to this crap by now. People thought DLH was going to do something new in boxing. Be this great promoter unlike the rest? Use his stardom for the betterment of boxing? These new fans don't have a ****in clue. GBP is no different then Top Rank, or DK when it comes to giving a **** about fans. All GBP is doing is what they THINK a promoter should do. Following the mold set by his predecessors. Silly noobs....get used to this. Fights that should be on regular HBO are now on PPV. Most of these ******s were in daipers when boxing was still highly popular. Lewis, Tyson, Holy, and even Goldy himself, ALL used to fight regularly on HBO. Now it's all about gouging the fans as much as they can, and these kids don't even know any better.

:good best post ive read on this fight since it was rumored to be happening, agree with all you say. its a terrible fight for canelo at this stage of his career its as if people dont realize paul has only looked bad against slick southpaws but has looked great against everyone else

So true. Its all about the cash. Oscar even put Dawson vs Hopkins I on ppv. Both are great fighters, but niether has a huge following, but they put it on ppv?

What the hell you talking about?

Sergio fights at 160 and Canelo fights at 154. Since neither fighter wanted to move up or down. There was no chance in hell that fight would have been made by September.

And Martinez has already stated that unless he gets a big money fight with Mayweather or Pac. He ain't moving down in weight. He'd rather stay at 160 and wait for the winner of Lee/Chavez.

I like this fight- it's a good step up for Canelo (and a logical one- Williams is better than anyone he's beaten so far, but Canelo's not ready for a real megafight yet), one of the last chances at the big time for Williams, and it's going to be action packed and entertaining for the fans.

I don't get all the hate for it. As long as they're not going to gauge us for $70 without the undercard to justify it, I'll buy it.

the only fighters that should be on PPV are manny and floyd . if it isnt them in the ring against eachother or sum one else. there the only ppv worthy but i still ordered cotto vs margs 2 when i shouldnt of becasuse there was a solid card on showtime n i shouldnt of ordered that bs dawson vs hopkins but there wasnt ne other fights on that night so i had to get my fix

i have a feeling jessie vargas is gonna be on this undercard were going to need sumthing better them him as well but i actually hes good but fights arent entertaining

The fight on it´s own is not PPV worthy on paper. It will probably be a good fight and if they really load up the under card then it could be totally worth it.

    Quintana-Southpaw
    Martinez-Southpaw
    Lara-Southpaw

Matthysse, Mitchell, Margarito, Phillips, and Ishida are all Orthodox fighters.

Williams shined in everyone of these fights.

This fight gets Williams back up top and opens the doors for bigger paydays with some of the sports elite..just where Williams belongs.
