So basically Manny needs to KO someone to get a stoppage?

    Fight could have been waived off in the 6th and 9th rounds and no one would have questioned it.

    This, even after he knocked hi down in the 10th. What was the point of him taking uneccessary punishment.

    That wasn't a standing 8 count. Algieri took a knee, meaning it is a knockdown.
    Taking a knee is not that common today, but it is a perfectly valid response for a fighter to regain legs.
    Since the three knockdown rule is gone, it's odd it doesn't happen more often, since it means you are just giving up a point, and not the fight.
    You can't win a fight knocked-out, you can win a fight even if way down in points.
