Dawson is definitely a treat for Kessler, same goes for Taylor.

But lets not get carried away, Kessler would be a very live opponent for anyone.

Kessler won't lose to Dawson, not a chance of that happening as far as I'm concerned. Plus Jermain Taylor is also nowehere near on Kesslers level whatsoever: one wonders what the **** the threads author is smoking. Kessler would onesidedly dismantle the HBO's overhyped darling Taylor. :)

I think Kessler beats Dawson based on activity, pressure and greater experience. Mikkel can handle speed -- just ask Mundine. That's not a problem, and neither should be Dawson's power or lack of same.

Kessler gave Joe one of his toughest-ever fights, much tougher than what Lacy or Jones could provide. And some would tell you he did so with just one hand. Mikkel can hang with anyone, even if he has a predictable, straight-ahead style. He's kind of like a faster, maximized version of Pavlik with a little less pop in his shots.

Not sure Kessler has less power than Pavlik, if I am honest.

In terms of technical skill, Kessler is WAY ahead of Pavlik, who is (to me) a one-dimensional banger, albeit a good one.

Dawson isn't exactly Oliver McCall mk II in the chin department, when he is getting constantly jabbed and hit with the right hand it may be curtains.

All are good points. Great post :good

I wasn't factoring in the weight difference between Pavlik and Kessler. It's certainly possible Mikkel hits as hard or harder than does Pavlik. And he is a much smoother and more complete fighter, IMO, than Kelly is. Not taking anything away from KP because he does what he does well, but I agree that Mikkel is better.

Dawson's chin is an issue and Mikkel would test it. I do think Chad has a large reach advantage, however.

Kessler would throttle Jermain Taylor. But it should be noted that Taylor has a 5" reach advantage in that matchup. Mikkel would have to work his way in somewhat, which shouldn't be much of a problem. Once Taylor starts to fade, as he (like ODLH) always does, Mikkel probably takes him out.

Don't get it twisted, Pavlik would be raped by Mikkel 10/10 times.

I am 100% confident of this.

Kessler would beat Pavlik down, no doubt.

Kessler would beat Pavlik by UD (118-110 ish) or late TKO - the right hand would give Pavlik fits.

Taylor might not fade at 168 as much as he did at 160, but I am not really sure he has sufficient power to back Kessler up. If it was a slugging match I would back the Dane.

WTF? Why do we need to look for an 'excuse' for Kessler not fighting Dawson? No-one even knows if Dawson would have the slightest interest in fighting Kessler right now. To my knowledge Dawson has never mentioned it. How can someone be 'dodging' a fight that has not been offered?

Diaconu was a mandatory challenger for Dawson's belt. If and when Dawson is a mandatory challenger for a belt that Kessler holds there might be an equivalency between the two situations.

I do not see a good reason for Kessler going up in weight in order to fight Dawson. I do not know why some people bring up Dawson anytime. Glen Johnson has aleady exposed Dawson.

Kessler should continue fighting as super middleweight. That's his weight. I would love to see him fighting someone like Taylor. That would be a very good fight.

I agree, you do seem to be an idiot, and it is good to see you have correctly identified your problem. Recognition is the first step, mate. Good luck with fixing your issues. :good
