i think canelo was out boxed, im not sure what the exposure was though. only exposure was mayweather was the better boxer, when i say exposed im talking about a blue print on the best way to beat a fighter. canelo was just outboxed mayweather and there's only one of him. good luck to everyone else who tries the same thing. cotto molina going to bed for sure if canelo fights either one of them.
Getting beat by Mayweather makes no fighter exposed. Unless you mean exposed as in exposure to many more viewers. Canelo will go on to do more good things in the sport. Hell, he might even go on to be a big ppv attraction.
No mames wey! Canelo barely landed any punches through every single round, how did he win 4 rounds? As much as I wanted Canelo to win there is no way I could give him ONE single round, maybe 2 even, but Mayweather completely schooled him.
Canelo is a great fighter already at a very young age. His problem was (1) facing May before he should have; and (2) his strategy was ****ed up big time. He thought he could outbox the master, when he should have used his size advantage, volume punching, and pressure. He did none of those things hence he got embarrased.
The excuses I had predicted, too green, he fought the best ever, drained, etc... The kid is not that good period, watch him fight a bunch of JWW next and another paper belt as a christmas gift.
I watched the fight 2 times. The first time I watched it I did not score it... but it seemed like it was ALL Floyd Mayweather. I had been watching the fight with some "casual fans" and was somewhat distracted by the extraneous banter and so forth. The second time I watched the fight (in relative solitude) I did score it -- coming to the same conclusion you did! The bottom line is "old" Floyd did what he had to do to get the win over a tough, skilled, young competitor. Canelo wasn't "exposed" ... Floyd is just that good.
i've watched the fight twice, once in company and once alone, and gave Canelo three rounds each time. He was landing some good body shots, jabs and some shots upstairs. It's just that Floyd knows exactly how to win over three minutes. He controls the pace when he wants to and just takes over to pull ahead when necessary. He is very good at the late round surges. He is an absolute master of the game. However, there was no shut out.
Canelo wasn't exposed. He was not seasoned enough yet though. It isn't his fault. Oscar had been protecting him for a while. Austin Trout being his only real opponent, and Austin Trout isn't Floyd. I may have paired Canelo with Floyd three fights down the line. Doing it this early, was doing Canelo an injustice. At least let the man fight more than one legit 154 pounder, before you put him in with the P4P best.
Oscar knew Floyd would beat canelo im pretty sure. i think he was thinking pay day for me and canelo will learn canelo will be a better fighter
The two claims- that Canelo was green and that Floyd is simply too good- aren't mutually exclusive. I thought Mayweather-Alvarez, in Saul's best-case scenario, was a year too soon before the fight was even made. Had Canelo had that year of prep, I'd still have favored Floyd. It just would've been a better fight.
