If Chavez is struggling to make 160lbs, why the **** would he fight someone as good as Martinez? Fight a very good fighter at a weight your weak at and when you lose, then what? If he is struggling to make weight, it's the right decision to make.
although both are b-level rhodes is no rubio. i do give credit to canelo because he did sign the williams contract where jr. has never signed anyone on that level.
Who the **** has Rhodes beaten? He was a domestic level fighter...The Zbik win was better than that, and Zbik is a euro bum.
What would that say about Martinez tho?? When 168lbs has been there all along. (Instead of sitting it out crossing his fingers waiting for Jr. To get him paid)
Williams has always been there to be hit, and was past his best....although I do agree he's better than anyone either guy has been in with.
He's been stepping it up the past 2 years. Rubio was the best guy he'd ever fought, and now Lee is....They wanted to let him actually develop before throwing him in with true world class fighters. What a terrible idea on their part.:-(
Rhodes hadn't already failed at world level in this division the way Rubio clearly did vs. Pavlik. Going into the fight he was regarded as top 5-6 in that division. No Zbik is trash, barely even Euro-level considering he had to get absolute gifts vs. Spada and Della Rosa before Chavez had to get a gift of his own vs. him (and before he was thrashed by past it Sturm).
:think u might be on to something. Sergio chasing someone very young and inexperienced plus smaller guys. Chavez being a world champ but avoiding the top competition, avoiding tests, and might be a cheat.
