with wlad turning 35 and vitali going on 40 did haye decide to pick the right time to make his play.

I don't really see how thats the case, to say Wlad might be past his best because he's 35 is at best a horribly naive judgement to take. He's looked as good as he ever has in his recent fights.

No, he waited until there were no more soft PPVs to pay him another £10m.

Goin on recent performances Vitali is clearly on the slide at 40 but Wlad looks fine at 35 which isn't terribly old these days for a Heavyweight who looks after himself.

I disagree the wlad that beat brewster in the rematch was possibly the best wlad we may ever see, it would be fair to say the current version although being still quality has lost some sharpness maybe enough to boost hayes confidence

Vitali's looked crap since his return, not just since turning 40. Some of his opponents have just exposed it slightly better than others. i.e. Sam Peter is shite and plodding and anybody can look good against him.

Wheres the evidence for 'losing sharpness'? He's dominated every single one of his opponents and not taken a punch in return. Pretty sharp.

Haye was slated to fight Wlad at various times when Wlad was 33-34, I don't think Haye has seen a critical (any??) amount of deterioation in those 18 months to make him think he can win a fight now that he thought he couldn't win before...

No he has just waited until the very end (milk the cash) and have a fairytale, climatic ending to his career.

And its not as if he's a fighter who trades on his reflexes which could go at any time.
