Wlad? He is one of the best earning in the sport.

Abraham has been earning about an average of $1.5 mill per fight for 10 or so fights. So if he doesnt have enough then he is using too much.

Huh ? AA is a bad example breh, he's loaded and has made good investments (an airline with private jets, other investments in Armenia). I won't be surprised if he was as rich as Cotto actually. :hat

Hopefully, everything turns out well for him in the end, and he can leave the game with his health intact. Judging from his record, he's taken some beatings just to earn a living.

Abraham is a superstar. A guy like Darryl Cunningham or Dominque Alexander is average. Those guys will likely need to keep working until 67, at least the average americans.

if you define 'average' as everyone who has fought a professional fight, then the average fighter makes nowhere near as much as 500k per year. I actually find this comment insulting in terms of its ignorance, as the median fight purse for all fights (up to and including ppv) is probably around 5k, tops.
The answer to this thread is an emphatic 'no.'

How about a 4 round weekend tournament for $1500, with a prize of 5K going to the tournament winner. :rofl
Several of the WWs had decent records, albeit against club fighters and cans, but one guy was 18-5, another 22-9. Better than average I'd say. A couple of the guys were undefeated, 9-0, 12-0-1. Fighting outta state in Windsor Canada for 6500 bucks to the winner after fighting up to 3 times, IF he went undefeated. The loser of the final got runner up prize of 1K plus the $1500 for the 3 fights. I think the oldest fighter won the tournament. He was like 35/36, 16/17-19 but had some big name fighters on his resume. I just remember he was the oldest and had a losing record. :yep

I think the Prizefighter tournament in UK pays 6K/fight, but some of those fighters are bigger names like Fields, Perez etc. They invited James Toney while his US liscense was suspended for roids, but he turned down the 6K/fight. :D

Uh, no. If you mean average "TV fighter", that's one thing - but when saying "average pro boxer" you need to factor in all the tomato cans and professional punching bags.

    No,and it's not even close.
Even fighters who were on TV in the 70's and 80's and were fairly big names sometimes end up mooching ponces who try to dine out on their achievements.I doubt even 3% make enough to stop working when they're fighting.
