Here is the thing. I read an interview with Bob Arum where he said he knows the lawsuit will have to be taken care of before the fight can truly happen. And this was months ago. So it looks to me that both sides are tracking the same thing.

Take the Deposition. Floyd's got million dollar lawyers. No reason why he can't give a million dollar answer. :smoke

No. This was an interview that Floyd gave. The interviewer gave notice prior to the interview taking place that he would be talking to Floyd about it so it was planned ahead of time so Floyd had time to get his thoughts together for it.

Everyone on this forum that claims to know something about law also claims the law suit is bs and not winnable. Arum has said basically it will go away as part of the negotiations. So, why not go into negotiations if he wants the fight? Then he gets the fight AND the law suit goes away. Win/Win for Floyd? No?

You still don't get it. What he says in these interviews in that regard means very little. I have no doubt that he will not sign to fight Pacquiao while that lawsuit is out there. Nobody would, and Top Rank knows it. However, to act like he wouldn't even begin negotiations while the lawsuit is pending is inaccurate. He'll come to the table, but the lawsuit will need to be resolved before anything is finalized.

Floyd makes it sound like a precondition here: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showpost.php?p=11434225&postcount=1

"Haymon said he wanted to resume negotiations for a Mayweather-Pacquiao bout. But he wanted Weinstein to help him get the deposition waived again. Arum says Haymon told Weinstein there was one problem. Floyd had been preparing for the deposition all day, but Haymon said he was afraid that the lawyer would ask a question that would anger Floyd and he would walk away from potential boxing match. Golden Boy, in this case, is representing Floyd.
It was then Weinstein pointed out something that you don't have to be King Solomon to figure out. He told Haymon the two things are not related in any way, shape or form."

    10-9 Manny Pacquiao!!:smoke

Take this for what it's worth, but it is the first evidence that Arum admits Floyd made contact about the fight, but again, tried to make dropping the suit (or at least postponing the deposition) a prerequisite.

sooner or later this will have to be resolved.

If they go to trial, i don't think Floyd would be doing any boxing unless he gets acquitted.

Again , you're stuck on a comment he made to Koncz during an informal conversation. We're going in circles here. If you want to interpret that comment to mean that he won't even open any sort of negotiations without the lawsuit being dropped( even though that's already happened in the past) be my guest.

He made the comment during a planned interview because he wanted to make that point. But, see the link above. Arum claims Haymon at least tried to make contact, but it was about the deposition, not the fight.

You don't even know what you're reading. In that article, Thompson is paraphrasing a conversation he had with Mayweather in regards to a conversation Mayweather had with Koncz. You then have Thompson giving his own interpretation of the events. Surely you see the problem with your assertion.
