So if Wilder faces Breazeale next is that cool with you?

Brezeale has taken a fair bit of punishment for so few fights and that affects longevity and durability.
The fact that there is a bit of needle between them makes it a bit more intriguing.

I would prefer to see Whyte get the opportunity as he has taken imo bigger risks to try and get a shot

With Hughie's movement, I would favour him to clearly outpoint Ortiz

It would fit with his recent selections. Beatable contenders.

I'd be very surprised and disappointed if Wilder faced Big Dom next. But I just don't see that. It wouldn't make sense. Wilder is finally becoming a big draw. Dom will set him back, or at least make him tread water. His team wants US PPV to succeed. The obvious thing is Wilder Fury II. They also want a ton of money. So if not Wilder Fury II, then Wilder AJ if the two sides can meet in the middle of their demands. But, even with Wilder's increased exposure, Dom is not remotely PPV worthy. Not now, at least. If they make that fight next, it goes on general Showtime and the best they can hope for is Wilder Ortiz viewership levels.

The smart thing to do with Dom (so let's hope what they are doing) is grooming him for the more distant future. They set a nugget on national tv about him being a high level future opponent for Wilder. Next, I would have him face Joyce in a chief undercard fight for Wilder Fury II. They could afford to pay him more than he would get if his next fight was the title shot against Wilder in a general Showtime fight (and still spend less money than they did on the undercard of Wilder Fury I). Both fighters come to fight and are entertaining. Joyce appears more talented but not remotely as experienced in the pros, so it would be a good 50/50ish fight. Whoever wins that fight really would be PPV worthy at that stage, and would make sense for the winner of Wilder Fury II. So, by going in this manner, they would be giving themselves another PPV option after Wilder Fury II without AJ being the only big money alternative. Hopefully that would make an AJ fight more likely.

But as it stands, without that kind of build up, there is nothing remotely PPV worthy about Dom v Wilder. It would be general Showtime, and it would just be treading water for Wilder at best, and at a time where he is aging and needs to be more proactive about his career. If he fights Dom next it would be terrible. Remember this and call me out for it if they do fight next. I'll gladly call it a bull**** fight.

Breazeale is a tricky fight for Wilder...no really, hear me out!

Yes, he would walk onto a lot of heat all night. He would probably be dropped. But man, that guy is tough. I could see him really just backing wilder up with his physicality and going to work. He only has one gear - plow forward and bully. No one has been brave enough to walk to wilder and back him up and bully him (for one pretty big reason!), but when people get him going backwards he can’t plant and throw his big right, and he always looks shaky.

This is breazeales entire modus operandi. And assuming he can deal with some of the power shots coming his way he will make wilder very uncomfortable.

I would still bet wilder by KO - but breazeale and his very nature would ask some serious questions of wilder if plan A doesn’t work immediately.

I’d watch it - but not on PPV!

    Good matchup.

I think Breazeale has a very good chance of beating Wilder, that's why Deontay has been avoiding him the past couple of years.

Joshua is literally begging for the fight. Wilder himself admitted that AJ is desperate for the fight. Both these guys have done a complete role reversal as it was Joshua who wasn't too inclined on the fight before . That Fury fight changed everything.

With Ortiz's concrete shoes, hughie probably wins every round.

I think Whyte would break down Breazeale in a pretty entertaining fight. I also think the Chisora that showed up yesterday would of had a great chance at upsetting DB.

Breazeale getting a title shot is no worse than Whyte getting one.

He's also the WBC's top ranked contender.

It'd be indefensible if Wilder was allowed to bypass him.

If that means we will get Fury-Joshua next then the winners fight each other I am perfectly fine with that. It won't go down like that though. He will rematch Fury next. People were saying he was going to fight Brezeale last time too and you see where that went
