Either way It was one fight, he lost to another undefeated All be it unheralded fighter.
Exposed is a bit much to say about the guy.
He can still come back imo, guess we’ll see.

    I don't disagree, in principle.

I think that the losses are good for Conlan and Colbert. It gets rid of this wanting to be undefeated BS and probably encourages them to take more risks in their careers.

Colbert just thought too highly of himself. Thinking he doesn't need to watch film of his opponents. If he gets disciplined and adds film study to his training routine he may do better. He also needs to learn to adapt in real time. Self belief is a must in boxing, believing that people need to adapt to you and not the other way around is foolish.

Well.... technically he ran into a hard shot after being systematically ragdolled for the preceding 6 rounds. What Garcia did before and after the knockdown, was the definition of a domination.

colbert was the one writting himself off. Sorry. It was so obvious that it was not simply a bad fight, it was a figther showing clearly what his ceiling is. Colbert has a shitton of limitations as a fighter (being the most obvious his feather fists, but not the only one and not the worst), and he will be able to win more fights, sure, but definetely not at the highest level.

I would have agreed with your comment if you had said it in general. But colberts perfomance was outrageous, it's a really bad example.

The biggest problem is broadcasters walking away from lads who have lost their "0". How many great Champions learned from a defeat, especially that first one ? I'll start with Joe Louis.

    He was dominated for sure.

    Still can come back though.
    He took garcia extremely lightly.

If Garcia goes on to win the WBA Super Feather weight title (should he indeed be given the opportunity versus Roger Gutierrez) this will likely become moot.

as I stated Colbert can-still comeback imo.
(& I aint even a fan of his fighting style)
