So the fight has been made...but why Cotto's title is on the line and not Pacquiao's?

If the fight is in a catchweight, why are they fighting for only Miguel's title, this was signed at 145, between 140 and 147, so the correct thing is that the fight should be for both's titles, not only for the welterweight one...

I think that Pacquiao, Roach and Arum are a disgrace for boxing trying to force opponents to fight under their terms, just like Oscar did in the past.

Because then the fight would have to be under 140 lbs to be contested for Pac's 140 lb title

Only Cotto's can be on the line - they are fighting within the WW division and Pac does not have a WW title.

within?, mmm there's no within at boxing donkeys, there are divisions at certain weights, 130, 135, 140, 147...there's no withing, don't try to deny the undeniable, Pacquiao, Roach and Arum are truly punks.

So are you telling me boxers that weigh-in at 145 pounds should be able to fight for the 140 lb title? Okay buddy

If you are serious about your argument then you don't know **** about boxing. Those are division limits - fighting at 145 is above the Jr. WW limit of 140; therefore the fight is considered a WW fight because it is above the Jr WW limit and below the WW limit. Not saying Arum and them aren't punks, they are - but the reasoning for which belt is on the line is clear.

no, im telling u that the same argument could be made for 147, it's the same crap, 145 is not a division, so if things are being forced, the correct and fair thing should be that both titles should be on the line.

Lmao, so many clowns on this forum. A WW fight and the JWW title should be at stake.

If Manny wanted to be safe he would stay at 140 and make Shane Mosely who work hard to get to 147 come down to 140 where he would be weak from weight loss, make Marquez come to 140 to fight a much stronger Manny than the Manny who knocked him down four times already, fight the 140 champions.
Fighting Cotto who is a very good fighter and bigger man at welterweight and allowing to him to wear smaller gloves than a welterweight ordinary wears is not safe. Manny is taking huge risk.
