Watched it in the pub with a few mates and to be honest when I first saw it happening it did kind of look like a bad cut in my (slightly) drunken eyes: there was a fair bit of blood that started streaming from it straight off anyway. But then seeing at it again on the replays and when the doctor himself started looking at it I changed my mind. It didn't seem to be bothering McCloskey that much if at all and at the very least they should've given him the rest of the round (and probably the seventh as well) to see how it panned out. Then if it had got worse you could make a case for stopping it but they didn't even give the guy a chance. Really poor stoppage IMO but to be fair Khan was winning the fight handily anyway so it's not like McCloskey was 'robbed'.
I said the Docto f*cked up and I stand by that. However, there referee had a part to play also. I don't blame the boxers or their teams. You can understand why McCloskeys team want a rematch because their game plan was coming of (to waste Khan energy and come strong in alter rounds) but you can also understand why Khan wants nothing to do with McCloskey again. I think ironically it will lead to good things for both. McCloskey can hardly be labled the bum a lot of people ( you know who you are) claimed to be. As Rico says - a lot of people underestimated him. As for Khan he get's his fight with Bradley in the summer and a big pay day. way I see it that will keep everyone happy - next up Khan V Bradley McCloskey V either Maidana/Kotelnik/Alexander
I don't think the cut was to bad. but the i do think the placement of the cut was bad. it was gonna stream blood right into his eye, effectively IMO, making him blind in that eye. I agree they should have let play out a round or two before stopping it. But Khan's handspeed would have capitalized on the lack of vision and he would have cruised to a stoppage or wide UD.

i will say this. if the Khan v Bradley fight is on Primetime, i won't be watching. The ref was constantly in shot of camera, director should have his testicles ripped from him. As for the fight...... no comment... It's too easy to pick faults. Although i will say this.....someone needs to knock out some of Khan's crew....wtf was that all about with the little rat raising his hands in the ring at McCloskey? Fair play to McCloskey for not knockin the dude through the ropes...smelly little ****er. If Khan had any sense, he'd keep his boys in check coz they acting like classless fools and making him look bad.
