So who thinks Fury won't be the same fighter?

True that would be a root cause but there's no evidence that he had a very serious problem with the coke and the booze. It's obviously a problem for a professional boxer/athlete to live that lifestyle - and for anyone to escape their depression that way - but I doubt he's done himself any permanent physical or mental damage with it. He's just done what a load of other normal men his age do, and his family life seems not to have suffered. The man has a wife and three (I think) kids he spends most his time with. If he'd been a serious drug fiend I expect his life would have spiralled far worse that it has.

I think his problems were depression and laziness/inertia and it became a vicious cycle. The inactivity leads to more depression, leads to more inactivity etc. The coke and booze were just a symptom of a man who was wasting his life and feeling a comedown from what he achieved.

Sugar Ray Leonard was probably a worse case in regards booze and coke, and he came back and defeated Hagler.
Of course the likelihood of Tyson Fury being as great as Ray Leonard is in serious doubt, to put it mildly.

He beat Wlad without being hit or breaking sweat, so yes the fact that he never got out of second gear to beat the Worlds best means he's unproven.

He beat the same Wlad that had Joshua on his arse and staggering about like a drunk every time he landed.

" Egg shell for a jaw " that would be why he's unbeaten ?

I thought April 1st was last month, but theres still lots of comedians about in here.

    He's at least 39 stone, that's 546 pounds.
I heard Roberto Duran used to balloon up to 590 between fights, and he was just a welterweight.

Which is exactly the reason why Fury ended up in the mess he was in.

He beats the unbeatable, but gets zero credit from most British fight fans and no recognition from the British press. Wlad was considered a washed up bum, and Fury got lucky.

Fast forward to the Joshua fight, and they're talking like Wlad has been in a time machine and turned back the clock, the press and the fans are talking like Joshua has been part of the greatest heavyweight fight ever.

    What an absolute crock of

    Not true at all.

Was it not one of the best HW fights seen in say the last 20 years?

Plenty of British World champions haven't got much press recognition. You are trying to make excuses for Fury when there isn't one.

Whether he got enough credit is irrelevant. He got a fat bank balance, the HW title of the world and another money spinner for a rematch with Wlad. The idea that his life was all bad is simply absurd.

As for the press criticising his comments. Nobody forced Fury to say the stuff he did.

I also think he wont be the same. He has a chance though if he takes a few tune ups first. Doubt it will happen though as he will go straight into a big fight and probably lose that way

He's looking better by the day.

This isn't a proper training camp for a fight, he's just trying to get himself into some half decent shape.
I wouldn't write this guy off. He's 28 years old and a champion.

Tyson Fury should have used all the negativity as motivation.
He should have just got in the ring and battered Wladimir in a rematch and continued to trash talk AJ and Wilder and their paper titles and see if they want to step up in the ring with him. He could have done that. He should have done that. He knows it.
But I guess he has a depressive personality and he went the other way and kept going down the wrong path.
Hopefully he'll get it right and come back.

Rewatch the fight. To claim AJ was hurt whenever he got touched is a straight up lie.

yep, led by you brittards. he barely stood up to feather fisted cunningham and nevin pajkic punches. he ducked more than five fighters who would have been easily more dangerous than anyone on his resume save old wlad. yet you idiots admit to none of that.

Fat fury is a good slugger 270-285lbs. Hopefully he won't fight anyone too dangerous on his comeback. 250-260 fury is the HWs best boxer and mover.

Stop talking out of your rear and give your mouth a chance.

Fury was playing with Cunningham, got sloppy and was clipped. He got straight back up and Cunningham was thrown about like a rag doll.

And he ducked 5 wannabes to take on the unified World Champion ? The same World Champion who hadn't lost for a decade.

    GTFOH with your nonsense.

Joshua spent the last 2 minutes of rounds 5 and 6 staggering about like a drunk, he also spent a portion of the 10th doing the same. He was tagged and hurt earlier in the fight but obviously able to absorb the shots better as he was less fatigued.

Would you like me to upload the evidence ?
