Cotto did the best he could. He boxed like he never had before. If he tried standing toe to toe more often it will end quicker.
Why don't I see Paul Williams name mentioned in some of you Cotto Nuthuggers. That's all you guys could talk about before Cottos destruction. Now it's like Margarito never fought Williams. Yes He lost that fight but Williams looked like his face had been through a meat grinder. Williams gets knocked out against the Margarito we saw earlier tonight. Why do none of you want to see Cotto against williams? Margarito had the balls to fight such a dangerous opponent. In fact I'd go so far as to say that if Cotto wants a rematch he should be forced to attain it by going through Williams. Cotto won't fight Williams....if he does he MIGHT lose which sets up the next big fight, Williams Vs Margarito II Williams will be taken out the next time around. He knows what he went through the first time with Margarito and you guys can say what you want but the fighter who got beaten up in that fight was none other than Paul Williams. I couldn't believe he was awarded the win.
I can see margo beating him worst if there is a rematch... margo will be more confident and already knows cotto's weakness.
nope...not until Cotto shows use that he can do something differently enough to actaully win the fight. Otherwise there would be no point cause the fight would look exactly the same. That is of course unless Cotto really wants a rematch in which case all the power too him. I'll pay for it.
Are you serious? I just made a thread where i said a PW rematch is the best fight for Margarito, and now you say I never mention Paul Williams
Yu know, heart isn't something witnessed only in the ring. Heart is also seen in training for a rematch such as this one. Come on, peeps-we're boxing fans, Goddamn it.
A rematch wouldn't make much sense. Margarito did more than just physical damage to Cotto in there. He broke Cotto's will which is exactly what Miguel would do to all his opponents. Kellerman said that Miguel was very upset in the dressing room. That's pretty significant to me. It's more than just tasting defeat for the first time as a pro. It's being given a dose of your own medicine and that's not an easy thing to take when you've had the success Cotto has had. Margarito doesn't care how hard you hit or what strategy you use. He fights in straight lines but he fights unlike anyone at 147. He is absolutely relentless.
Excuse me???? He has superior skills? In regard to what? Not only should you be able to display boxing technique but the complete boxer has it all. Heart, Conditioning, skill, will, and the willingness to leave it all in the ring. Margarito is the one who demonstrated this, and more than once in his career. This is a fight Cotto will not win.
