you got a 26 year old prospect claiming to be a world class amateur fighter and on his 9th pro fight u put him in with 12-17 fighter not good imo, stop the bull**** fights, the paying public dont want to watch **** like this frankie gavin vs tyrone nurse would be a fight. lets roll back to the days were prospects fought each other to prove who the best is. if frankie loses then he can get Guebbas's phone number from dean powell

MY GOD, he is one of my fav journeyman in general.

he is a ****ing toughie....are you sure. lacks skill too top heavy and walks to you but is a hearty ****er . he doesnt throw any good combinations but will land continuously. he can hit the target pretty hard. his fight with hunt is a war.

he fights like a punk but is in there for serious reasons. not a easy match up in terms of 1vs1 gavin needs to box to make this uncompetative. make sense to me.

hes fought those fights at lower weights, i guess he isnt that bad but still would have expected a slightly better opponent with maybe a winning record

Does anyone know why Frankie has only managed 8 fights since october 2008?

He can do more than just claim to have been a world class amateur fighter.

Frankie should be further along now in his career and this fight could have happened awhile back but the opponent is decent and will probably give Gavin rounds.

    I'd imagine it's Warren's decision, not Gavin's.

The opponent is absolutely fine. Frankie would have been out the ring 6 months by the time he fights and he needs some rounds in before he challenges for titles this year. How about actually watching a fighter instead of judging him from his boxrec record?

I'm looking forward to see Frankie deal with him, this opponent should be perfect for his style.

iv seen him fight john murray and kevin mitchell hes a good journeyman, but shouldnt a 26 year old whos has world class credentials at amateur level be accelerated at a faster pace perhaps fighting some1 like a nigel wright.

I think he would have been facing a Nigel Wright type if injury didn't force him out of the last big Warren show, after this fight he will be accelerated at a faster pace. I reckon it'll be the Brit title directly after this fight if all goes to plan. I reckon Theophane will beat Daws and Frankie will line up for the vacant belt.

This is a good fight for Frankie against an aggressive opponent, it'll prepare him well for a title shot later this year.

To be fair this is just a bit of a tuneup to get the rounds in and shake off the rust before going for the British title next i think.
