Soliman suspended Geales next opponent?

Discussion in 'British Boxing Forum' started by ginger warrior, Apr 29, 2013.

  1. Sam soliman has received a 9 month suspension for his drug test faliure after the felix sturm fight he won on points

The result has been overturned and called a no contest and so soliman loses his mandatory position

Barring a sturm rematch (surely its lost its appeal) and with ggg, macklin and martinez tied up for the immediate future, does this mean geale can take a voluntary defence against a high ranked contender

In which case any chance for barker, murray or even billy joe saunders (current climate)

Hearn's got to push this he really has. Darren's held the SMW and MW IBF intercontinental title so he must have some ranking with them.

Soliman was a **** defence, Barker vs Geale would be good, Barker wins imo.

  4. Agreed

Hearns best chance he will ever get again for barker

Geale wants to keep busy, fights on the road after going home last time so could bring him to london

Hearn should go after this aggressively and entice geale here

Any of the British top lads has a chance against the average Geale, hopefully one of their promoters can get them this fight.

    1. Sam Soliman
    2. NOT RATED
    3. Felix Sturm
    4. Predrag Radosevic
    5. Hassan N’Dam
    6. Dmitry Pirog
    7. Domenico Spada
    8. Jose Miguel Torres
    9. Anthony Mundine
    10. Curtis Stevens
    11. Anthony Mundine
    12. Yovanni Lorenzo
    13. Gilberto Ramirez
    14. Patrick Nielsen
    15. Jermain Taylor

  7. Two Mundines don't make a right.

  8. As mundines top 10 does that allow him a voluntary now soliman is suspended
Or hearn goes for sturm to take his position but that means travelling to germany and cards stacked against him
Spada is 7th and barker beat him for european about 2 years ago

I can see Geale fighting either the number 9 or the 11 on that list.

Barker's 9th in the rankings. Still has some work to do before he's secured that mandatory position:

I think Geale would beat Barker. He seems the easiest of the champions but he's a really well rounded fighter.

I think Barker and Murray both beat Quillin.

Hearn should be making a sizeable offer to Geales team, if not get him into a mandatory position next time round.
