It's refuted by his comments on the Times article.

Ok, just to clarify, your position is that the youngest world champion in boxing history didn't peak early?

LOL. This is funnier than the Antuofermo thing.

which was then UNDONE by Vito's later comments viewed on ESPN AFTER viewing Hagler's sparring sessions :smoke

on Benitez, that must be why he lost to Hearns Dec. 82 in addition to Leonard, Hamsho?

if that's the case, we never heard that was the reason :D

have u ever noticed how srl fans seem to think only THEIR man had what it took to beat a decent fighter?

Complete lie. The Times survey was published the day of the fight. Find me a clip of Antuofermo making that claim, and I'll give you or your favorite charity $500.

I'm more of a Hagler fan than a Leonard fan, but I *have* noticed that over the last 11 years of Hagler's career, Leonard WAS the only man who beat him.

    Ever notice that?

that's just a myth u heard somewhere down the echo chamber

why wasnt this rumour started during the time Benitez was set to defend his title against Hearns, just months before the mauling by Hamsho?

Come to think of it, Benitez was at the PEAK of his abilities and accomplishments

and at 24/25 ish, it's hard to believe otherwise :smoke

I don`t echo anyone Einstein... You should know that by now. If you are saying that Benitez did NOT peak early on in his career. Then yes, you really are THAT stupid...Go create a thread about ATG chins starting with Terrible`s ...

    Now THAT'S a LIE!

i always say, if you're going to tell a fib, go big. nothing u have said has ever supported your claim u are a Hagler fan, and have gone out of your way to discredit Vito and his assessment. now u say Vito never made such comments. not to mention the fact u replaced comments straight from Tim Ryan, as relayed to him by Leonard himself with "it was just a slight natural decline" a deliberate attempt to cover up

people like u, JLP6 really have no knowldge of the game, and u sound foolish comparing Leonard to Ali. u say things like "leonard had his prime taken away" when in reality, he stayed out by choice. He could and DiD fight again even tho he had been cleared to fight the same year he quit. yet u keep claiming it was taken the way Ali's license to box was taken. In this case, Ali had no choice in the matter and still u window lickers cant see it

I think of Leonard as a very good fighter that had an impressive win streak of a few fights within a couple of years

but I've seen better win streaks by far

sure u do. why contradict me? everything you've said I've seen several times elsewhere in other comments, on this site and on youtube

lookit you, you're too clueless to even tell me why the press didnt dub Benitez as over the hill both before and after the Hearns fight. and u wont either. when u came onto this site u had no idea u would be tested by others with more firsthand knowledge of events, whereas your knowledge only consists of second hand knowledge handed down from elsewhere that u thought could be relied on

this puts u at a huge disadvantage

I stigmatized u, demoralized u, discredited u and even debited u. u have no confidence left. u wont last thru the nite. you'll never make love the same way again

all on account of your failure to answer this question: which chin held up better Norris v srl

You are the best... Total domination ? Priceless... I think we all lean towards MULTIPLE KO losses... Mullings, Boudani, Brown and Jackson .Do they ring a bell ? Because they sure rang Terrible`s bell :)
