Not really Seaums. That's not what's on film if you're looking.

The old money heavyweights below today's limit are probably dempsey, rocky, walcott, charles, schmelling and patterson.

None of them would I give a better chance than, say, frazier, tyson or louis.

I'd give rocky a better chance than jack to be honest.

I think he has better fundamentals and more power plus greater conditioning and durability. Jack's got the edge in foot and handspeed but he probably isn't as quick as david haye or byrd and both them failed to repeatedly hit wlad.

Rocky bearing in would make it interesting until he got knocked out after taking one too many shots. Dempsey has next to no chance against wlad. Infact the fight wouldn't even be sanctioned today.

I'm not the only one who sees it this way, not on this board, not among the people who know boxing who would never touch a computer.

And granted, Dempsey is not ALWAYS in this mode and shows moments of real skill and great physical assets, but he so very often drops his game plan and goes for broke. Sometimes it works, sometimes it costs him. There are a lot of leaks in his game.

I give him his due in the historic sense... but head-to-head, he doesn't measure up for me.

I'm not talking now about Dempsey's chances versus Wlad, just your surmise concerning him on film. It's not accurate.

But I guess i'll settle for "wasn't always in that mode."

Johnson is my number 3 Heavyweight. I know I rate him higher than most, but he isn't in your top 12?

If we lived in a world with no shw then jack would be a top h2h fighter imo, but I can't see him troubling bowe, lewis, wlad or vitali

Bull****!!! Golota proved twice that Big Daddy couldn't take it downstairs, and we all saw what Dempsey did to Sharkey in Yankee Stadium.

He exhibits every flaw mentioned above here and often. He's running straight into Firpo, squaring up, off balance, retreating in a straight line and remains wide-open for right hands.

It's weird cause I agree with you about the Klit's but I also think Jack Johnson would have a field day against Dempsey... yet.. it seems I'm in the minority there.

My number 3 atm as well :good

I'm not sure anyone could rival louis, ali or johnson in terms of clearing out an era.

Wlad, too, looks pretty vulnerable to right hands on film.

Basically, no one's going to have an easy time stopping Johnson; no one's going to have an easy time outpointing Johnson; so why should anyone be a big favorite against Johnson? Johnson could have given anyone trouble.

Wlad lost this one coz he was inexperienced and could not pace himself correctly.

Hardly this was because of his vulnerability to right hands.

I should know by now that sarcasm doesn't translate well on the forums.
