Round 4 of 6: Berridge with the much better footwork. Needs to get in and out with his jabs. Knockdown from Berridge, Tavui is down. Went toe to toe there and Berridge won with a right hand. But Tavui gets back up and Berridge continues. Rails the punches in on Tavui and the ref steps in stops it. KO win in the fourth for Berridge. ‘The Butcher’ has too much class for Tavui and remains undefeated.
Fight 5 ALOUA v FILIMAEA: Aloua is a Kiwi in the Mundine camp, a former NZ heavyweight amateur champ with 5 KO wins from 5 fights. Had some drama at the Commonwealth Games when his fight was stopped when he had a bloody nose although he was in front. Filimaea is a former street kid who seems to be still learning the fight game. So Aloua the favourite I would say.
Just up here for a bit of work for few months.. not enough work in sydney to much up here. so stuck my hand out to check out FNQ.. would say we should catch up for few beers when u up here but i think im due to be back down south in the big smoke by then. hoping not though!! loving it up here
The fighters taking their time to make it into the ring. Aloua is in the white and black trunks, flanked by Tony and Anthony Mundine. Filimaea in the black. Aloua is undefeated from 5 fights, Filimaea has a record of 3 wins, 9 losses and one draw. And it begins. Cagey opening. Not much landing. Just finding their measure. Aloua counter punching well. Filimaea being aggresive, he seems up for this. Then a nice combo from Aloua. And then another good two punch combo. Fairly even round. Filimaea might have got it, was busier.
Round 2 from 6: Both fighters using their jabs. Both keeping their hands up. Not too many clean punching opportunities. Aloua does have a lightning left. Cagey round. Aloua countering well. He unleashes a flurry towards the end of the round and Filimaea is down. He gets up, groggily, and it’s all over. Aloua has won it just before the end of the second. Aloua throws two rights and a beautiful left and Filimaea is all over.
Footage of Tillman looking sharp and fast in the dressing room. He will need to keep that up for the 10 rounds to catch the faster SBW.
SBW looking very relaxed and comfortable in the dressing rooms. Tony Mundine giving him some final advice.
I'm plagorising all this BTW..thanks to the poster on the other site... Auctioning off SBW’s ripped All Blacks shirt from the Tonga World Cup game for charity, before the fight starts.
