http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/boxing/16945599 That article says he was fighting an American. For the New Zealand Heavyweight title. :huh
Was at his debut. The guy he fought was the worst fighter I have ever witnessed climb between the ropes.
I think he'd be laid out before he reached championship class in all honesty. Though I think he'd fare alright on the domestic scene..... I know the opponent was **** and had been stopped before but his left hook and uppercut are pretty fearsome. Outside of Price, Fury, Chisora and probably Sprott..... who would all be too clever for him, is there anyone else that he can't beat? Him vs Larry would be 50-50 If he hit Sexton it'd be lights out Likewise Tom Dallas After that we're talking about old men, novices and low level journeymen.... probably none of whom have been hit quite like that.
He is having a bit of fun, he is no where near good enough to be in the ring with the likes of Sexton, Dallas or Olubamiwo. An excellent athlete, a brave man, who clearly enjoys the physicality of the sport, but he is not a boxer.
Lol Tom Dallas would Smash him up as Would Larry O if he was over here people like Hastings Rasani Scott Belshaw and Mike Perez would even eat him for breakfast.
If they were to look for a (an ex) Brit for him to fight, that could genuinely sell down under and possibly have a bit of curiosity value over here, why not get ol' Aussie Joe out of retirement? 10+ years of rust, a 60+ year body and presumably a need for fame and/or cash (after that Jungle thing he did), would make for a genuine pick'em.
SBW is not ready for Audley unless Audley has deterioated even more. SBW balance is awful, his defence awful, his punching technique awful. He is talented but technically atrocious fighting atrocious opponents. Good on him for giving boxing a go but he needs ALOT of work. If I was his trainer, I wouldn't be too happy with him acting as a display for my work.
I don't think Dallas would bash Williams up at all. The opponents Dallas has beaten aren't any better than that fat knacker that Williams put away inside a round the other day. He didn't exactly beat Zack Page, let's be honest here. Belshaw is poor, can't take a punch either. Fury nearly flattened him with a nothing jab. Perez would obviously destroy him, but that's nothing to be ashamed of for a rugby player. I've said a few times that the opponents that the likes of Price have been facing would struggle with a tough rugby player. We might just find out
SBW is an elite athlete but no boxer. As soon as he fights someone who can slip a shot or even judge distance he's getting beat.
i think he suffers from nerves i bet hes not bad in the gym but when he gets to fight night it all goes out the window and he wants to brawl thing is it worked for him this time so hes gunna try it with someone better and prob get stopped himself.
