Its an exhibition, not a real match. Do you think Terell in real matches reminds you a bit of Tony Thompson?
Damn you, McGrain! It would take ten Terrells to equal even one Acklie, and you know it. Snob. :bart [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecNNmEGQ9a4[/ame]
i didn't know that either.sonny did look like he was taking it easy, which wasn't something i thought he was capable of.
] Foneda Cox ,Sonny's sparring partner during his top years said Liston was a sweet heart ,except when he drank.
Aside from the K brothers, I don't see any active top HW who has the skill that Ernie Terrell had. My opinion.
but liston take the beating of his life on ali's hand and put him out of commission by breaking his shoulder and liston still in his prime at the time of fight:!:
Chagaev a couple of years ago was very good, but I don't think you can say with any kind of certainty that he was better than Terrell. And that's not today, either. As for Povetkin, I think there is not a lot in it, but I like Terrell overall due to his superior range.
I think Povektin, or Chagaev at their best would beat Terell 2 out of 3 times. Chambers doesn't punch enough, so Terell might jab and grab his way to a points decision. Terell is what he is. We can all see the films. Lets be honest about him. He's a slightly better version of Tony Thompson.
His style turned me off,but he did beat . Jones Machen Folley Foster Chuvalo Lincoln Williams. That's a better resume than any contender today imo.
Terrell would have held a version of the title in modern times...he was an effective, if dull fighter with a longass jab and a tendency to hold, like I said...effective. Better than a John Ruiz...he would have beaten the version of Roy Jones that beat Ruiz...that I believe for starters.
