Well no, Lyle didn't. He got stopped.

Just because you think Williams gave Liston a pounding does not mean Liston could survive the bombs thrown by George.

Liston gets badly beaten up here.

Exactly what stylistic advantage does Liston have?

Foreman will walk through him until he knocks him out.

I don't see it. Foreman ko.

Had liston destroyed someone of fraziers quality I might buy into the hype, but he didn't and foreman did.

Liston wins this in every way possible
-George said when he was across the ring from Liston, Liston looked about 10 feet tall and Liston was the only man ever to stand up to him,
-George couldn't bully or push around Liston
-This is a young George against an older Liston in sparring and Liston could take his punches push him around as George said ''stand up to him''
-Liston had the superior jab and boxing skills by a far margin and on the power an old Liston in his last fight against Wepner hit Wepner harder than when Wepner fought a young George so that says something
-All in all George had problems with boxers and guys who were physically stronger and could punch very hard Liston ticks all of these boxes.
-If a Prime Liston from the Cleveland Williams bouts fights George i have no doubt Liston would win this 10 times out of 10

Liston compared to Foreman is a brilliant technician. And who the hell did Foreman ever walk through other than Frazier and Norton?

I agree, Foreman has only one advantage over Liston, the ability to cut off the ring, since neither will be running it would not be a factor here.
Liston threw straighter punches and had better defence, he was also ready to disengage and regroup ,George was more one dimensional . Sonny by dec, or late stoppage.

That of the box-puncher over the puncher, one of the most well known stylistic advantages in the sport.

I can't take the post seriously and must assume it's said in irony.

I just don't see it as an advantage in this case. I see no way liston can keep foreman off him and no way liston can take the best punches from foreman.

No way is liston gonna try to outbox foreman, he's gonna try to outpunch him and he's gonna fail.

Better stamina? Foreman didn't sit down in his corner between rounds his entire 2nd career. Still, he had no trouble going the distance. He even had evander running away by the end of the fight.

BTW, Liston despite being 3 inches shorter than Foreman had a 84' reach and Foreman had 2" less reach (Foreman = 82"). Valuev, who was a foot taller than Liston has only a 1inch reach advantage over Sonny.
