Yes I have noticed a lot of weight jumping and many rate it highly. I don't particularly. I rate unifying a division as a tougher challenge than 3 belts at 3 weights these days. Far fewer have done the former than the latter.

No one cirticises Hagler for not taking on fights at LHW or Tyson for dodging cruisers do they?

When they do I'll start knocking joe for not making a fight with winky bleeding wright.

You don't have to give him credit nor bash him for not fighting Ottke. You just have to say he shouldn't really be included on these lists of hundreds of fighters Calzaghe supposedly should have fought, for obvious reasons.

I will never understand why any time I make a comment about anyone, I get all this 'Pac nuthugger' ****ing garbage thrown at me as an insult. It must be to deflect my point. I cannot understand the connection between the fact I think Pacquiao is the most exciting fighter in the world (though not necessarily best, as I think JMM should've got the decision in their 2nd fight- the jury is still out) and my opinion on Joe Calzaghe's resume. It's pathetic.

OK, I'll take your insults one at a time, you 'plonker':

    1. why don't you just go and pick any other old fighters who were around maybe down to flyweight and up to heavy and list them

Because they weren't fighting at Calzaghe's weight or those around him

    2. i've already explained jones, toney, ottke and hopkins, not one of them ever called out calzaghe anyway

So, why does that mean he couldn't have called them out and gone after them?

    3. steve collins,he was retired by the time calzaghe won the wbo against eubank,do you know anything?

As I clearly stated earlier on, he could've made Collins a big offer to come out of retirement. I don't believe Collins had made so much money he would've turned down Frank Warren's considerable cash, and interest would've been high coz of Collins's dominance over Eubank and Benn.

    4. michalczewski had already held a version of the lightheavy title and was busy avoiding or being avoided by roy jones,so you wanted a young guy who had just won the super middle title to take him on?

Quite simply, yes. If he and Jones weren't fighting and Calzaghe couldn't get Ottke to come out of Germany or afford Hopkins, wouldn't this have been a logical step for the ambitious champion instead of dull defences?

    5. wright, trinidad and taylor particularily the first 2 are just too preposterous to discuss

Winky Wright is one I strongly feel he could've got. He was at middleweight in 2005-6, and was ranked 5th P4P by The Ring, he drew with Taylor and had nowhere else to go.

Anyone who thinks Kessler is more unproven than Lacy can just go stick his face in the toilet and close the lid

I do rate it highly. The only reason unification of titles does not happen is politics, not because it is more difficult, it obviously is not. Changing weight class from your natural one is obviously a disadvantage you concede to make a big fight happen or achieve something more. If the IBF champion wants to unify his title and sets up fights with another alphabet champ, he could lose his IBF for ducking mandatories. This becomes more difficult when he holds 1 or 2 more belts- the organizations make demands on you and belts have to be relinquished. This is common knowledge- it is happening to Wlad right now (Thompson, Povetkin).

The reason Hagler never changed weight class is the main reason he is not rated more highly in AT P4P ratings. Had he went up light-heavyweight in after the Hearns fight and before Leonard came back, and fought any of the top quality light-heavys at the time, his legacy would have been far greater if he could've won. Why is Duran rated so highly above Hagler in all-time P4P terms when Hagler beat him? Coz Duran proved his greatness at different weights.

And the Tyson point is laughable- when in history has a heavyweight way above the 200lbs limit lost weight to win a cruiserweight title? A daft point.

22 title defenses ... 23 title fights ... 7 world champions on his resume ... and two hall of famers ... 45-0

that doesn't sound that weak to me ... yeah he has some fillers on his resume but tell me a fighter that doesn't ...

add to that he's the product of a weak division ...

If he hadn't said it, Calzaghe would've sued them into the ground for that.

No, you were just speaking a lot of sense for once. A moment of clarity.
