He won't be giving up the belt Marcus so don't worry. This is how the rules work; A fighter moving division loses 25% of his points if he still has enough to be within the Top-35 or would be if he beats the champion he may then contest the belt. Next month Choc will be rated as a middleweight as he made the weight and defeated Taylor who was ranked 84, now considering he is 3 at super-middle it would be a hard stretch to think he will be outside of the top-35 at 160 come the new ratings
ha ha ha good point phil. he is quiet. post up the top 25 or 50 ibo middle ranking .. does he have a #1 guy he has to fight first?
The IBO has never been in to mandatories Marcus, normally the only way to be made mandatory is to win an intercon and defend it twice within 18 months against quality opposition. There is an avenue for mandatory under special circumstances ie a champion who has not defended for some time. Ashley because the IBO top 100 is impartial and rates every fighter in the division including other champions top 15 simply would not be realistic - the top 100 is traditionally stricter than other organizations who have given some slack to certain promoters fighters and have resulted in some great match ups such as De La Hoya V Charpentier, Kamau et al that are simply no good for the sport. Another interesting example - when Tommy Browne fought Injin Chi for the WBC title, he was not even in the top 100. You only climb the ratings based upon the quality of opposition you fight
Phil, If Daniel defends his title against another australian, are they allowed to have an australian referee or judges?
Please dont get me started again. That Ged **** has done ****k all since Geale ruined him....thats what Geale does, he rips your heart out and stomps that ****er deep into hell. And he will ruin Mandy!!! maybe knock his good eye right out of his ****ing head Yes they should have had a back up plan, and maybe a better first plan to start with. Ask Phil, he likes to defend thier shoddy track record :stir
Barge, the officials will be selected by the IBO. We have at the moment Garry Dean, Brad Griffiths and Steve Marshall as R&J's Of course there is me as well but I would say I will be down as supervisor. I would say there will be a mix of Australian and O/S officials but that is pure conjecture. Once bout agreements and request for sanction is received Ed and I will discuss appointments then. Nice stir Marcus but I ain't biting! :hi:
