    you got it wrong

the fight we need to watch is Dempsey vs Willard that is the way to beat Valuev and Haye aint a million miles away from Jack Dempsey.

Haye needs to get under those punches of Valuev and bomb in underneath with haymakers early.

Willard was regarded as a big and tough guy who usedhis size and had fairly good jab.

    Haye KO1

What did I get wrong? Willard-Dempsey isn't any better a comparision than Valuev-Holy.

Holyfield flurried and held a lot. I can not imagine Haye doing that, or I can't imagine it being good for him at least.

The tactics that Haye needs to use people are putting too much emphasis on what Holyfield did but he didnt do enough at the end of the day. Also i dont think Haye has the foot speed or mentality to pull it off this way.

Personally, i think the best tactics to use is wht Dempsey did.

The 2nd sentence is the key.

Holyfield knew he would be able to take Valuev's punches if necessary, and was able to fight pretty much the perfect fight - taking into account his age, lack of speed (compared to ten years ago) and not being able to pull the trigger anymore with that busted shoulder.

If Haye gets caught he will go over, no question. It's good that he seems to recognise this and is prepared to adapt to suit. One thing in his favour is his power, the ability to bang his way out of trouble - but would that work against Valuev....... never down as a pro?

Holyfield hardly got hit, lets be honest. He might have been caught with a few lacklustre jabs at best. The whole fight was Holyfield circling the perimeter of the ring, occasionally firing a flurry and then holding. Valuev just walked around whilst pushing his left arm out.

This fight should be a lot more intense.

Valuev aint a big hitter though. Ruiz took the punches and he aint exactly Lamotta. If Valuev does KO Haye it will be accumulation as Valuev just hasnt showed the speed or skillset to land that 1 bomb to stop someone, every time he has doen it it has been combos and attrition.

Valuev has never been down but has he fought anyone who hits as hard as Haye? and is always throwing bombs so always dangerous? and Valuev is there to be hit.

i will but its a long way off yet

Yeah I know he isn't a massive hitter - but Ruiz has a decent set of whiskers, despite being blasted out in about 12 seconds by Tua.

Haye isn't blessed in that area.

As for whether he has faced bigger punchers than Haye..... probably not. Chagaev isn't particularly powerful, barely put a dent in Matt Skelton, who has been stopped twice lately by average fighters...... and as for that shocking 'effort' against Wlad :-(

I think Haye will win, but it won't be the cakewalk most think it will be.

Haye dosent have a great chin but its not as though he gets hit on the china and he falls, it needs an aright hit to do it. And as i said i dont think Valuev has the speed or the skillset to deliver say a good counter shot or a hard punch to drop him with a single shot it will be a combination. And Valuev dosent throw alot of combos and he is fairly slow so a combo gives Haye more chance to get out of the way.

Haye will be throwing bombs and Valuev does have a good chin but if what i think is correct can Valuev take Hayes bombs when hes landing flush on the chin? its a matter of time then aint it?

I also think Haye will win that Haye KO1 i predicted was a joke i think it will be a mid round TKO
