Not a fan of PPV but I really can't complain at just under 20 notes for a fight of this magnitude. I'm in.
Yes 4 am is the biggest issue. I would love to watch this fight live and would happily pay the ppv price but I just can't do it anymore at those times. Back in the day I used to stay up for them all in the USA, starting in the early morning I'd watch the full card till the headline big fight came on at the end. It went then to setting my alarm and eventually just setting my alarm for the main event. I can't even do that anymore. Last time I did it it took me a couple if days to get my body clock back. It's a great night I'd love to see but will have to settle with the fight the next day. Only the younger hardcores will stay up for this imo.
This is definitely one I'll be setting the alarm for. Always get up/stay up for the biggest fights, have done for over 12 years now. Although I've failed to keep my eyes open on a few occasions of late. Must be getting old
Yeah that's it mate. I'm not really a big fan of PPV and very rarely pay it, probably only 3/4 possible fights right now where I'd pay for it and this is one of them. Less than a score is great value for modern PPV's too really and one of the biggest fights in years.
You won't get another fight like this for a long time. 4am is a slog, but it's worth it for the mega fights. Both P4P Top 5. Both are naturally in the same weight class. Both undefeated. Neither is past their prime.
Great fight but Spence definitely isn’t in his prime. I’m disappointed it’s PPV but it’s the most anticipated fight of the year so far for actual boxing fans. Also I’d argue Spence isn’t in the top 5 pound for pound. If anything, I might stay up for Beterbiev Callum Smith.
This thread is 99% people saying they can’t wait and then you saying it’s not worthy of PPV, not the fight it once was, Spence is past it, they’re not well known etc. Stick to Joshua v Whyte you wally. Why isn’t Spence in his prime anyway? He knocked out a world champion in his last fight.
We all would have preferred to see the fight about 3 or 4 years ago and that’s the truth. The good thing is that it’s happening now. Spence isn’t the same after the car crash and this will be his 2nd fight in 3 years. Against Ugas when he got hurt he spat his mouthpiece out. He did the same against Danny Garcia. I never said I’m not interested in the fight. Just not interested in waking up at 4am and then paying £19.95 on top of that. I will watch Davies Cunningham however on the same date. Not because I’m more excited for it but because it’s on at a good time for me.
That’s a good shout for DramaShow mate, he could have a template of replies ready to go in his own personal documents file for anyone who dare say anything remotely negative about Matchroom.
