Doesn't make no sense

The vast majority of people who watch sky boxing find him annoying and racially biased.

He was a very poor fighter himself, surely you'd think you would have to get to a decent level as a fighter to be a pundit on TV

 

No disrespect to him, but I simply cannot tolerate him for a nano-second.

With the knowledge that the likes of Macklin & Moore have and with how well they come across to both casual and hardcore bases, Sky should be putting all that kind of work their way.

 

I dont think you need to of been a decent lvl fighter to be a pundit at all.
Im sure theres guys who frequent this and other forums whod make a good job of it. Just cos youve been a boxer doesnt mean you know loads about boxing, froch is a good example there i think, he continualy gets boxers and divisions wrong.
Punditry is more than moves and manouveres.
Also i think coldwell breaks down fights better than froch but achieved nothing like him in the ring.
Coldwell didnt win an area title

He seems to know generally what he is talking about, just very racially biased and pretentious and snobby when it comes to boxing, thinks hes above other peoples opinions

 

I think I'm mainly immune to bad punditry nowadays. My only major problem with Spencer (and Glenn McCrory), is that they can talk too much. Especially annoying when they have an interesting guest who you actually want to hear talk.

 

100% agree, the majority of commentary for boxing is pretty poor in my opinion. I like the guys at Showtime though.

 

Spencer Fearon probably had Walters winning every round against Lomachenko before he quit.

 

Macklins the worst, did anyone see him commentate the Gavin fight the other day? Dear god.

 

Am not sold on macklin either. Ian darke, Paul smith, malignaggi. Be a top commentating team that.

 

Macklin has been good or very good the times Ive seen him....god knows he is better than Darren Barker and a few others....

 

Paul smith sucks he can't isn't any good.

David Price would be good.

John rawling is the worst commentator, he doesn't know the fighters names which is pretty important.

 

I used to like Malignaggi but recently he seems anti British and pro american.. didn't like his pro Linares commentary against Crolla, and his wide scoring for Ward against Kovalev was disgusting
