Spike has actually improved recently also, his hand speed has definitely gotten quicker compared to before. I'd like to see the odds for this one. Twentyman could well be right, Lemieux isn't exactly the most durable either so if Spike is still there after first 3-4 rounds i think he could well break Lemieux down.
I'm going with Frampton tbh at elite level, Barry was a great fighter but he never met the true elite to determine his true level(Pedroza imo was finished), Sanchez and Nelson both stop him for me, and Collins was as tough a man as I've ever seen in a ring, born tough and could only be beat by skills than head on, a monster in terms of toughness. In your opinion, what happened with Cruz in Vegas ? Heat ?? He wasn't a fighter that could comeback from defeat if you get me, Hatton's the same, once cracked, they couldn't comeback
Lot to digest there b. Mc beats Frampton over 15 for me. Of course Sanchez beats Barry, but (contrary to popular opinion) I think Barry would've beat Nelson! Nelson didn't like yo work too hard and Barry was all wrong for him IMO.( cue howling mob of azumah fans on the attack!) McCullough was possibly even tougher than Collins. Both were mentally and physically incredibly tough men. As for Barry... In Vegas it always 120 and daytime in sunshine. Cruz was native to that climate, that's all. Incredible performance from Mac to even last the distance...he looked like he was literally dying, you could see it in his eyes. A lot went on in McGuigans life, bad luck etc ...he wasn't "unable" to come back due to any character weaknesses if that is what you think. Cheers.

He had a lot going on around that time. The breakdown if an extremely “close” relationship with his manager...plus his fathers, child’s and. Brothers health all went bad around the same time as I recall...but it was a long time ago...I may be wrong...
I hope he can too. But he is so slow and hittable, with poor stamina too, that you'd have to favour Lemieux. Even a slow out of shape Lemieux. The other issue is weight. Will Lemieus ever make 160 again? I wouldn't bet on it. He must be a very poor trainer, with a poor lifestyle whose heart isn't in bixing any morebecause he is let's face it small enough guy who should be easily able to do it if he was putting in the effort in training and living the life. Spike better hope a disinterested under-trained Lemieux turns up, that's his only hope IMO....that's IF the fight ever happens at all!!
Not often i disagree with you pal but this is one. Spike i feel is tailormade for Lemeiux. Lemeiux is the bigger puncher and Spike is there to be hit, both are. I just feel Lemeiux is a better version of Spike. Spike was not very tough v Eubank, he never wanted to know. I think he will get stopped between 6-8. I agree Spikes is good to watch, good fighter for any undercard and stylewise this should gel well. Look forward to seeing fight
Its getting harder and harder for David to make weight, while Spike is there to be hit, so was Achour, Reyes and Rios, and David couldn't stop them, I think Spike is durable enough to soak up a few rounds of bombs, to land a few of his own, and possibly get David out of there, primarily due to David looking ragged lately, and his struggles with weight.
Your right more than most pal, more likely to be other way round. I think it will end up a shoot out, should be a great match up.
2 things going for Spike are he is also a puncher so always has that chance with one big shot. The other is he is voming of the bedt win of his career whikst Lemeiux the worst. Unfortunately i do not think it will be enougy. I think he has been paired with Lemeiux purely with Lemeiuxs interests at heart.
