Mills Lane was the best referee in my book. He was small in stature but he certainly controlled the big heavyweight. I'm inclined to believe Weeks on this one; Lawson was vastly outmatched and the stoppage would have naturally came anyway, there was no point in Weeks inducing a premature stoppage even if he was on the take.
