There was an interview with him in the Boxing Monthly July 2008 edition.

The finishing excerpt might interest you:

BM: In retirement, you jettisoned a career as a trainer-manager to chance your luck as a thespian.

SC: I did set up a gym in Dublin for a year and a half but, for me, I'd have to be at it 24/7. You're dealing with people's lives. You have to treat 'em like a son. I didn't have the time. I like my other life too much.
I was never an actor (smiles). Vinnie Jones lived near me and was a pal. One day, he invited me down to the set of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (Guy Ritchie's 1998 film) and offered me a part as a doorman. Today, people are still sending me scripts. I've just read two in the car on the way up, both as doormen. In one I've got one line - "****". The second is slightly more challenging - I get two words: "**** Off".
I just have to look hard, so I'll need to get back on the road. If I get fit and drop weight, people might recognise me!

Against Calzaghe maybe but Jones? Around that time Jones was in his prime, what could Collins have brought that nobody else at the time couldn't?

I saw Steve about 2 weeks ago. He is married and living in England. He seemed in good shape. We chatted boxing a bit, he thought Enzo would have beaten Haye, but i got the impression that was because he liked Enzo. He says Haye is a bottler, ok on top but no heart.

He rated Benn and Eubank a lot. He also thinks the Irish boy from the Olympics that lost to De Gale will be a top pro, he rated him a lot.

He thinks a lot of Hatton also.

Can we see a link to the Collins ducked Joe please?

Collins is one of my favourite boxers, he did it the hard way and retired on top.

Collins was one of the toughest boxers of his era, a granite chin and hard as nails. He definitely never ducked Calzaghe, he just offered to little reward for a man in such a late stage of his career.

Steve Collins divorced wife Gemma and moved to England where he had 2 more kids with a woman named Joanna although they did not get married, he married Donna Feist in 2004 and is now living in St. Albans. He was commentating on TV3 boxing a while back, I hope this answers your question.
