True but Seagal practices sound Aikido. Alot of Senseis in Japan dislikes him because he mocks them with their stupid useless techniques of falling all over the place. Seagal, started Tenshin Aikido back in 82? Although he wouldnt say it Jim Berkley (one of Steves 4 BBs in Japan) who I studied under stated that it was a more aggressive form derived more from Daito Ryu. Theres a reason these top guys listen to him because they respect him and have shown enough "moves that work"' to earn that respect. Steves probably pulled out a Desert Eagle and asked the guys who want to learn true martial arts and invited them to the shooting range.
Gotta admit I think he really did help them now. That "uppercut" kick seems to get guys right down the center and with good speed. Seagal is still full of **** though :yep
I guess you havent seen most Aiki demonstrations, where the Sensei waves his hand and someone takes a breakfall in another room.
All Seagal ever did was ask why they didn't use that kick is it simple quick and great to use against someone standing right in front of you. simple karate kick. Used consistantly it will keep a grappler at bay

He did not found an aikido school in japan. He married a Big Sensei's daughter and was given a dojo in Japan. The dojo failed. he then left the wife , with a couple of kids, in Japan and came to U.S.A. He opened a dojo in California and was discovered by James Coburn who got him in the movies. He married another woman and sent the mother of his children only a pittance while he was making tons of dough. he is a turd. he is nothing. he has a big mouth. was always going around saying he beat everybody in Japan and could beat any martial arts/karate guy in U.S.A. Twelve karate guys put a letter in a prominent karate magazine challenging him to pick any one of them and they would fight him in a public forum. he replied by saying he now only fights to the death. He is possibly the biggest phony/***** to ever come out of the martial arts.
