    Oh yes, abolishing it would definitely work. It wouldn't go underground with no medical supervision at all then, no siree bob.

    Rugby Union in the UK has a ticking timebomb of players with brain injuries that is being nicely covered up at the moment.

    Nah. It's part of boxing. You sign up to the possibility of this happening whenever you fight. Stevenson was still holding his own and fighting back. It wasn't like he was taking an extended beating for several rounds. This is a long time champion fighting in his own backyard, the ref is obviously going to give him the benefit of the doubt.

    That's the far left speaking again. Legislation and banning is their answer for everything. Measures can be taken to protect fighters sure, but tragedies will always happen in boxing.

    Exactly I don't blame the ref here. Stevenson was the long time champ and he was just giving him every chance he could. This was just a unfortunate incident nothing more.

    Now had Stevenson lost the last few rounds in a completely lopsided manner..... The ref would definitely be deserving of blame. But that's not the case here. Stevenson had landed a shot in the prior round(or was it the 9th?) that caused Gvozdyk to fall into the ropes. He was still showing more than enough signs to carry on.

    There are all sort of jobs and activities people do that are dangerous. They know the risk and choose to still do it. Mountain climbing produces more death and injury a year than boxing. Leave boxing alone.

    Also what else do people expect a dr to say.

    Im not sure but id imagine Rugby and NFL is alot worse than boxing.

    Pro wrestling too. I think pro wrestling is probably worse. Look at all of the early deaths from suicide, overdose etc.
