Did Stiverne ever stop? From all the sources I've read he keeps himself in trim throughout most of the year. It's only when he's nearing a fight that he eases off the training and starts full time binge eating, for that extra SHW power that several stone of useless flab gives modern heavyweights.
It's sad how much people talk up Hagler-Hearns when Wilder-Stiverne 2 was basically just a better version of that. It was all of the excitement, build up, and action condensed in to the most brilliant and exciting two and a half minutes in boxing history. I hope we don't get trilogy, this rivalry is deserving of at least a quartet.
Everybody relax. Stiverne is in training for the 4th of July Hot Dog eating contest where he is a slight underdog.
Stiverne is back in training. He can now smoke 1 ounce of skunk in less than 30 minutes, and clear three KFC big daddy meals in under 60 minutes. He should be ready for a trilogy early next year
Stiverne will be 40 this year, if he's serious about fighting on he must have blown through what money he's made from the 2 title fights he's had. Honestly at this stage he looks shot, not sure if he'd even beat Charr based on what we saw vs Wilder. At this stage of his career he's nothing but a walking punch bag and will just be fed to up and coming prospects because nobody in a position worth anything would waste their time fighting Stiverne. Maybe Joyce should call him out, he's been struggling to find a name opponent to step up against and Stiverne might be desperate enough for a payday to accept.
The first fight Bermane came in Dehydrated; in the rematch the poor lad came in Over hydrated! FFS what are the odds I can't help but feel sorry for Stiverne very unlucky. The third fight will be very interesting, Shades of Raymi-Maz
I heard he's going to be in the main even at Coney island for the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest. He's gonna beat that punk Chestnut down and take his belt!
Stiverne needs to sit down. He was a complete waste of talent. He'll be 40 years old in a couple of months and has been a fat slob for the last several years. His days as a top fighter are over and they aren't coming back.
Feed him to one of the prospects to pad their records with..... Does Don King even care about him anymore? Probably not considering Stiverne is even more useless now and even he couldn't buy a decent ranking for him at this point.
