Why don't you just answer klompton2's question? Did Leonard not win at least 3 of the next 8 rounds after the fourth? And don't say he didn't...
Seems it's you who has an issue with how a fight is scored over 12 rounds? It's Haglers own fault he gave the fight away

Since the video shows the actual count of scored, and discounts slaps, cuffs, grazes, misses, blocked, yes I knew that many of the rounds that were scored for Leonard, actually should have gone to Hagler

This was the mistake Jo Guerra, disgraced judge from Mexico, had been making

and the same could be said for rounds 1 - 4, which most were mistakenly scored for Leonard

although I could not match the accuracy of the slowed down video, I still got the true winner right and like Rummy, my score was 116 - 113 Hagler

that's a natural reaction if you are a leonard fan and for the previous 32 years mistakenly thought Leonard won the fight

you simply dismiss the evidence before you

It's what evolutionists did when the physical evidence from within the strata showed thousands fossils of advanced life forms in the pre cambrian era that contradicted their theory

The evidence is neither incomplete or faulty and you would know this if you had watched it frame by frame, which I had the courage to do

and why did I do this? Because I wanted to know which side was correct.

and now I know; Marvin was ripped off but actually won the last fight of his career and whipped the best of his era

Perhaps the greatest act of heroism I've ever heard in the history of the fight game.

I actually watched that fight rooting for Hagler. I wish Hagler had won. He should have won. Ive watched the fight a dozen times and Ive never scored it for Hagler.

I want to believe you but I got to believe the evidence!

32 years is sure along time to get keep a controversy going which is why this video was pain stakingly put together

TBH, I was rooting for the upset and it was leonard's crowning performance. I WANTED to believe but the name of the game is scoring

    blocked punches dont count

    misses dont count

    ali shuffle dont score points

neither does sticking out your chin

neither does hitting after the bell or groin shots

and fighting a poor fight as Hagler did, does not mean he didnt outpoint Leonard

:) it was nice while it lasted

its controversial from the timing of the match (five years late) to the gift decision

Hagler was used up, at the end of his career, Leonard on the comeback but this fight was the highlight of his comeback

I actually thought Leonard did very well and fought the smarter fight even if he was outscored

No. Great event but not great fight. Sometime when both fighters are past their best, it equals itself out and makes for a great fight. This wasn’t one of those occasions.

You should definitely watch and score it but once you've watched it once you won't have a burning desire to watch it again, unless you want to double check your scoring.

Plenty of people on this forum whose opinions I respect and viewpoints I usually agree with scored the fight for Hagler. I myself don't see it that way and think Leonard won but the views on this fight are a bit like the fable of the blind men and the elephant.

I've never scored it for Hagler either , but it was too close to call it a robbery imo.

Hagler knew he lost with his little dance before the scores were announced.
You saying Hagler won the first 4 rounds now?...man

    check the video

Leonard of course won the first round as evidenced by the film. I always had a problem with at least two of the first four rounds. fans automatically gave Ray the first four rounds but the film proved me right; Leonard did not sweep the first four rounds as many were blocked or missed. Shots taken on the gloves are NOT considered scoring punches. Nor missed punches and this is what the video settles: how many scoring punches were scored each round by the fighters,

as it turned out, Hagler outscored Leonard 10 of the 12 rounds but is hard to discern when watching it live so it came across as closer than it actually was

A robbery? Yes, but it did appear close

my scorecard agrees with Rummy's: 116 - 113 for Hagler
