This is true also.. The dynamic of the fight was very strange. Reem was also hesitant to commit to strikes out of fear of being taken down. He kept his base so square and low, and really was reacting off of Werdum. Consequently Werdum actually seemed to land more, but I don't know I would say he was exactly effectively striking.. He was after all trying to pull guard and feigning being buzzed every time he blocked a punch that Reem threw. So, every time he blocked a shot and landed on his ass, I'm going to assume he was actually hurt. That seems to be the consequent of feigning being hurt. That's the risk you take, so have to say Reem had the advantage striking. I mean Werdum used the same strat effectively against Fedor, feigning being injured so we know it can be effective.
I think the fans lost. It was both fighters sticking to their game plans, both of which had very defensive aspects. Reem wasn't going to try and pound out Werdum on the ground. And Werdum was going to do everything he could to take the fight to the ground even if it meant jumping and pulling guard.
I ****ing hate Mauro Ranillo. Worst announcer in combat sports. Griggs is fun for what he is. Cormier still sucks. Noons got his ass kicked. :verysad Barnett rules, even extra fat. Round 1 of Overeem-Werdum was comedy gold. After that it was just sad.
this was only my 2nd strikeforce ppv, so all these fighters are pretty new to me.[only watched ufc previously.] overeem took a lot of punches didn't he, does he usually get hit a lot or was it just a bad day at the office? i think werdum was close to winning imo, he landed more clean shots.
Overeem won the fight. He throw less punches but landed them more than Werdum. He went for less than downs but got more take downs then Werdum. The fight was boring as ****!
Before the fight I wanted Werdum to win this. However after the fight has ended I was glad that Overeem got the decision. I like submissions and jiu-jitsu, but you don't win fights by jumping on your back every possbile moment. Reminded me of Ali vs that japanese guy.

Reem deserved the win but was poor. He looked tired and not too different from the fighter we used to see in Pride. Werdum was a joke!!!

I don't make gifs, I found those. It's not like I searched for "gifs of Werdum kicking Overeem's ass" I just searched "werdum overeem gifs" and those were the first I found. But I would love to see some of Overeem being that effective. Go ahead and find some, if they exist.
