The Ring magazine top 10 list is pretty much the mouth peice of Oscar De La Hoya & they list GGG as #1 at 160

If it was so easy, GGG would have been deprived of his belt & 0 long ago, being an upper elite is exactly what GGG is now...not a popularity contest either...

 

again if you want to claim somoene is higher than elites, then you need evidence showing they are HIGHER THAN ELITES, NOT LEVEL WITH ONE.
That is what the world HIGHER means.

I used Upper because its more proper with Class, now from 2012 to 2017 go through 160 & identify the top elites (ABC/Ring ratings), GGG beat the ones that agreed to fight him & that is how he became the Upper Elite at 160

This shall change as soon as GGG loses (he drops to elite), its only logical that he has to be dethroned.

The world upper Elite simply means Champion (just more inclusive as it can allow 2 or 3 if necessary), GGG surge, then dominance at 160 was not challenged from 2012-2017. There was not a single fight avoided at 160, so why the confusion?

 

no that is how you become elite, beating all except other elites, its a longterm popular ESB definition, and you know this.

 

Elite is a wider class, the elite of 160 are the Top 10-15 Contenders (1% of 1000-1500), that is how fighters get a shot vs the Upper Elite (0.1%)

In 160 there are about 1500 active boxers, the 1% elite are roughly the top 15

So we can say Jermall Charlo is an Elite 160 boxer, but GGG is Upper Elite

 

absolutely no way. its just a handful. elite means something more than simply world class, which is what you are partially describing.


of course there is crossover content.

 

With all respect, those boxers who work hard to get to the Top 15 are pretty much the Elite class of boxing, we can complain about quality...but that is as good as it gets for now, Arum brought Vasyl Lomachenko...Show us your head hunting skills & bring a better elite for 160!

If anybody is listed in the Top 15, that is the face value of it. He will remain an Elite, as long as he can defend his position, nature having its way, if he is not good or no longer good, he will be removed by newcomers
