The truth is that there was a legit offer faxed to UBP's headoffice by Sauerland Events...it was just UBP who said that they don't take it serious b/c it went along over the media...calling this unprofessional - tell this some American promotions and they would laugh their ass off... Btw, Sauerland/Abraham says the same about Arum...guess it's just negotiations... :deal
This fight has to be an absolute ***** to negotiate. Consider the following. 1: Money; both fighters deserve to be very well paid. 2: Television: Multiple TV deals. 3: Both fighters have large fan bases on 2 different continents with radically different time zones. This relates directly back to point #2. 4: Risk/Reward; There is a lot on the line. The winner earns undisputed ownership of the historic middleweight division; the second most prestigious division in boxing. The loser is, well, the guy who lost. 5: Venue; niether guy should be forced to fight in the other guy's back yard. Rumor has it that they are looking at MSG. That's far from neutral territory, but it's better for AA than Cleveland or AC. I could probably think of other factors, but I think you'll get my point.
I like how you back Pavlik guys, I really admire that.. it reminds me of how I backed Lamon Brewster in his heyday. :happy I'll feel for you when Abraham knocks him out cold.:|
You mean like he knocked out the great LuJaun Simon, or were you referring to the version of Eastman that Miranda sparked in 7 rounds? Oh wait -- my bad -- he didn't knock those guys out -- sorry.
This is actually a risky fight for Sturm against a good opponent. Between Gevor and Sylvester, that makes 2 worthy defenses in his last 3 fights. Hell may not have frozen over, but it did just get a cool breeze. Good for him.
It's just #1...German TV station ARD gives SE a freebie every once in a while...German fans understand that AA wants to make a big splash in the US and Germans still think of the US being thr Mars, something special...this is the closest of being a career-defining fight for AA...and Abraham wants to fight at MSG as much as every other boxer in the world, it's like the holy grail for them...
good opponents? maybe. fights people want to see or give a **** about..... HELL NO hes been a joke for a long time...time to step up ...of course maybe he knows his limits
Well obviously he knows his limits and just fights the good guys but nothing to hard. Altough I think Gevor can take him.
