Just find it a bit strange that after a close fight where neither man looked like getting stopped, you predict the guy that most thought won to get stopped in a remtach. I'm sure a few agree with you I just find it odd.

He got jobbed because it was in Germany and the German fighter got the decision. Yeah the term gets used a lot, because it happens almost every week!

It was a close fight and could have gone either way...nothing whatsoever to do with the fact that they were in Germany. Mackin - Sturm = close fight, Williams - Lara = Jobbed

Macklin was out on his feet at the end of the 12th.

My point is that it couldn't have gone either way because it was in Germany. The decision was always likely to go to Sturm and Macklin had to work twice as hard to win any rounds due to poxy hometown judging.

Macklin was on ***** street and out on his feet?!?

Think you might be onto something there.I did think he should have got the nod on the night but it was clear Sturm had figured him out in the late rounds.Maybe Macklin knows Sturm will do more in the early rounds this time.

Macklin and Murrays recent performances pretty similar very strong for 6 rounds but faded badly in the later rounds especially Murray. Should more have been expected given the gym they train in or is the gym to blame ?

They were exactly the tactics I expected.

How did you expect him to fight?

Yes, he was close to being stopped. You clearly didn't watch the 12th.

 Come on seriously? Can I say that Sturm was close to being stopped in the first 2 rounds as well then cuz Macklin won those easily and caught him a few times as well?

Obviously neither of them really looked like getting stopped and even though Macklin did fade a little and was pushed back a bit more in the last couple of rounds, he was never dropped, forced against the ropes for long or seriously wobbled any more than Sturm was at any time in the fight.

In a video in Griff's thread, Macklin said he would prefer to get Sturm in the ring again rather than pursue Martinez.

Don't believe everything that is coming from the Sturm camp at the moment. They really got laid into by the German media after the fight, and it is very much in their interest to look as productive as possible in making the rematch.

Its shame Sturm wont go to the states for the rematch, seems the best place to have the fight, but i doubt that will happen after how close the 1st fight was.

I think what he means as to the Macklin Sturm fight is to do with the scoring by the judges, not the fact Sturm won. If it had been a point or 2 on those judges that favoured Sturm i doubt there`d have been as much uproar.

Why would he leave Germany when he can sell about 20,000 seats in Germany, and have millions watching on TV? That's just not how boxing works.
