I'm 5'6", 175 lbs (15-16% bodyfat), and a 66" reach (wingspan). I would be competing in either 165 lb or 178 lb for amateurs where everyone is tall. So yea I was just wondering if there were some really good boxers who were short for their weight class but overcame the odds. I shall make it my goal to become the shortest world super/middleweight champion.
sam langford not much taller than you fought at heavyweight regarded as one of the biggest punchers ever check my avi
Montell the ice man griffen (griffeth? get them confused) was 5'7'' at I think light heavy, gave Roy Jones ALL kinds of problems in their first fight. The second didn't go too well though. I felt pernell and pac were too short for welter at 5'6'', but that's just welter, we aren't talking about light heavy. Duran at middle, not only short, but old, too. Tyson was a weird confluence of unearthly strength and speed and intimidation, if you had that presence in the ring I think you would already know it so maybe the montell griffen analogy is the best. Lots of good short fighters.
