The difference between RJJ & SRR is that Jones had a faster 1 punch, whereas Robinson could flurry with 10 shots loaded with power.
He certainly has a case. I think LaMotta VI is the best filmed performance i've seen, though there is loads of competition and other good picks.

This is obviously bull****, but I understand the point you are making. All I would say is that most fighters would look their absolute best on offence against this type of fighter. Just to say that the flipside (LaMotta) is a bigger pressure fighter with an enormous workrate and underated speed of pressure. On paper, that's a nightmarish combination for any smaller man.
This is misleading. In terms of combo punching it's not really close (At least to me). But Ali left jab was recorded to be faster than SRR. Now, what I don't know is when SRR was recorded and if he was or wasn't in his prime. Ali's jab was like at the speed of .4 seconds or something.
Intresting point, you could well be right, every punch he threw against la motta espicially after the 10th had bad intentions, however in the below clip of his welterweight defence against docusen he's sitting down on most of his punches, not all but most, got to love his body movement and slipping of punches in this clip as well. Robinson was an artist vs the much bigger Lamotta, no MWT in history coulda beat that Robinson, not one. The best boxer-puncher of all time. Best fighter period.
really? LaMotta holds his own early then Ray starts to pull away and TKO him late. Not the best ever performance considering he had troubles early on against him. Where other fighters have shut out better fighers than LaMotta

I'm assuming you have seen footage of Ray Robsinson in action, so if you do not get why he widely considered to be the best P4P fighter in history then perhaps you won't even get why! Its a hard one. P4P, Numbers 1 & 2 are bolted shut, those being places belonging to Robinson & Armstrong!
