Yep but what I heard Stieglitz“s promoter are aiming for a Balszay rematch.

He does have a win over Allan Green, who's in most top 10s. And David Banks is a decent fighter as well. Yes, he's limited, but so is Stieglitz. And frankly, Miranda probably has a bigger name in Germany than Balzsay, as far as I can tell.

Bad idea for Stieglitz. Balsay was better at the beginning of the fight. His stamina cost him the fight. If he comes in a better shape, Stieglitz will lose.

I agree Maxime. Miranda has to beat Stieglitz and if he does, I'm sure HBO will want that fight. I sure wouldn't mind Pavlik moving up, that would make it very interesting also !

i think he will move up at some point. but he HAS to fight williams at 160. just on principle. he can't move up knowing he has unfinished business. i know kelly wants the fight (i know many on here don't believe that) and i know kelly and his team will try and make it again. i'm sure there will be apprehension in williams' camp, but i'm confident the fight will get made.

as far as clearing out 160 altogether, it will be hard to get sturm in the ring. hbo's last offer was a lowball offer for both fighters. sturm makes a damn good living fighting in germany and he's going to lose to pavlik so there really isnt any motivation for him to get it on w/ kelly for anything less than a **** ton of money which it seems hbo isnt willing to put up (and that a top rank ppv won't generate)

I doubt HBO ever airs another Stieglitz fight, unless he rattles off some huge winning streak. He really stunk it up the only time he made it onto US TV.

Sturm's going to lose his belt soon anyway. Dmitry Pirog is gonna beat his ass once he gets the opportunity. He should have lost to Gevor even. I realize the German audience thought it was about 50/50, but not being able to understand the commentators, I scored the bout 10-2 in favor of Gevor.

yeah your right, he may very well lose his strap before kelly or williams gets a crack at it. i wasnt impressed at all with him in the gevor fight.

Nobody here is talking about a Bute-Stieglitz fight on HBO.

We're talking about the possibility of Bute-Miranda if he the later wins against Stieglitz.

Exactly. No doubt HBO would buy a Bute-Miranda fight to unify the belts. Right now Miranda may not be worthy of HBO's time, but if he picks up the belt and fights Bute, it is a great event, especially at the Bell Centre!
