There isnt a person out there who hasnt had The Dream. The dream is an idea that sounds almost too good to be true when you first realize it. It could be something as simple as two buddies right out of high school that decide to get an apartment together. It is agreed that there will be partying, plenty of drinking and more than likely, very little time for sleep. Good times are going to be plentiful. But once the lease is signed reality sets in. One notices that sleep is a good thing. Partying is fine, on weekends, but you have to work during the week. Your attitude changes, acting grown up with a savings account and having a nice place becomes a priority. Now you find yourself waking up from the dream or having your dream morph into a nightmare. You still have almost a year left on the lease. You have no option but to make the best of it and hope that all of your other friends and family dont give you the old, I told you so. Dreams, at least the kind we fantazise about, usually have happy endings. Reality isnt always so kind. Welcome to reality Showtime. The Super Six Tournament was a dream of the Showtime brass that quickly started to have http://www.boxingnotes.citymax.com/Super_dream.html
super 6 is wack. we lost 2 of the best guys at 168.the best is no longer fighting the best.ward needed to fight dirrel and maybe even a kessler rematch.now we got allen green wtf is this about, you know what i think if glen can make weight and be healthy he will be green.and i think it would be a toss up fight between him and froch and abe.but we all know glen aint post to win and i dout he gets a fight in his backyard. so to me the very best or no longer in it, atleast kessler and direll aint.so its what ever.im still going to watch it and support it but the winner of it is not the best at 168.
Guys come on..... you're really going to complain about the Super Six then look at it from this angle - as individual fights were top SMW are fighting each other much more regularly than they typically ever would.
"Let them ruin their careers for peanuts." Sounds almost prophetic now -- doesn't it? On the other hand, in my opinion, Froch/Abraham is destined to be a GREAT fight. In addition, I think the grand finale will be a great fight no matter who ends up in it.
Bull****. The tournament has hit some snags absolutely, but a nightmare? We still got some good match-ups out of it that we wouldn't have seen if not for the S6. So what if some problems arose? We ***** and complain about the entrenched system in boxing, then when a network comes along and tries to change it we ***** and complain when it doesn't go perfect? Of course it's not going to go perfectly smooth (what in boxing ever does...well, besides a Top Rank only fight that is), but they tried something new and it's a great idea. We should at least be happy that someone is trying to save boxing from itself.
