I didn't even know about his Ring Rating, but going strictly by the two losses at a lower level (admittedly early in his career) and having never beaten anyone of note...with the only name I even recognized on his resume being Kohei Kono... (and I'm someone who actually does keep tabs on the Japanese scene...not as much as a few diehards like some of the BLH guys...but more than probably 95% of boxing fans...) Sato wasn't supposed to be too competitive, let alone win. Maybe not Proksa/Hope or Pong/Jaro level...but IMO not too far off from that shocking.
The fight itself- Sato vs Suri is fantastic. Sato won by scores of 116-110 and 114-112 twice. Suri went down twice in an exciting third round and it looked like curtains. Without the knock downs it would of been the draw. I reckon the Ring should update the ratings net week to: 1. Narvaez (if he wins this weekend) 2. Shimizu 3. Cazarez 4. Sato 5. Suri 6. Kokietgym 7. Rojas 8. Seda 9. Nashiro 10. Sanchez
I read that Sylvester Lopez is going to fight Sato in Japan.He needs a KO to win for sure. Never heard of this kid Sato.Tough test for Lopez.Fighting in Japan and it could have been in Thailand had Suriruabalala what ever his name is won.Ok just saw Sato fight for a few seconds.He is going to get KTFO by Lopez and new........WBC champion.
