Although Tszyu lost the fight, I always liked his bout with Vince Phillips. Two guys just trading hard straight rights and little inside hooks all night long. Too bad for Tszyu that Phillips was freaking HUGE as a JR Welter... finally in either the 10th or 11th round Kostya cracked and Phillips put him out.

    Ya beat me to it.

Id also like to add in...any Whitaker fight is good to grab. If I have to recommend one that Boppa didnt (Boppa, glad to see you went and did some heavy research on Pernell...hope our back and forth back in the day had something to do with it :hey), his fight vs Vazquez was a phenominal display of how great he was...far above his natural weight, against a great fighter at 154, and he dominates arguably every single round.

Great to hear your looking into both of these greats (the original poster, not the one I quoted LOL). Whitaker is by far my favorite fighter of all time. Just a wonderful talent. You will be quite pleased.

Another suggestion I would have would be to see if you can get a hold of Pernell Whitaker's Ringside episode from ESPN Classic. Great back and forth between him, Duva, Kenney and Sugar...as well as quite a few of his great performances. A must see for any Whitaker fan.

No probs Sues yeah well i just seen Whitaker vs Haugen on espn in Oz the other day.

We all know that the Sweet Pea fight was a BS decision against Chavez but believe it is worth a look as it was good and big fight for the time.:thumbsup

    Tszyu vs Gonzalez my favorite
    as
Whitaker vs Ramirez 2 is my favorite Pea fight.

I agree Pea schooled Chavez and was robbed. One of the worst in recent memory betwen two elite fighters.

The worst one for me was Fenech vs Nelson one.

    That was a joke also.

Actually id like to know how many fights are actually out there that were clear robberies.

Not ones that were 2 points or less that could have gone either way.

The ones that were real clear.

    i bet there is thousands.

:huhHow long has it been since you've seen that one Sues? That was a close, competitive fight that Pea didn't look particularly good in outside of the jab, which was on point and gave him the win. Not even close to a domination or shut-out.

    Yeah.

I have watched that fight about 30 times and NEVER have I been able to give Chavez more than 4 rounds...its absolutely impossible.

Yeah it was bad i feel cos it was in Florida.

It was just all wrong but the result and Tszyu was great.
