And yet it didn't. Fat, old Lewis whomped prime Vits after getting off to a slow start. Vittles couldn't beat him at his worst, he'll never deserve to be mentioned with him in a debate about being at his best. That is 100% FACT!!
Yes Vits was winning, but championship fights are 12 rounds not 6 and Lewis was dominating at the point of stoppage. In all honesty Vittles fans should be thanking the ref for saving Vits career and thanking Lewis for giving him a shot to begin with. If not Vits would still only be remembered as the guy who quit against lil Chris Byrd and never rematched him. True story...100% FACT.
Why? This thread is legendary and full of entertainment value. I think it should be stickied again by popular demand!!! TKO6 FOR LIFE!!
Lmao!! Good trolling! Vits landed a grand total of 8 more punches, never had Byrd in trouble and left no marks. He quit in shame and avoided a rematch. Who cares what Wlad did? Vits ain't Wlad. Like I said though, you should be sending Christmas cards to both Lewis and the ref for saving him and making people forget about the Byrd fight. :good
McCall and Rahman stopped Lewis with one punch. They took any decision out of the ref or judges hands and made sure they got the job done when they had the opportunity. Vitali failed to do that. Even if Lewis was fighting a dirty fight Vitali should have been able to stop him if Lewis had a glass jaw but, to make the point again Vitali failed to even knock Lewis off his feet. Vitali dominated the opening two rounds, he should by rights have stopped Lewis before the 3rd but he wasn't good enough to do it. In the 6th Vitali wasn't hurting Lewis anymore and this was so obvious that George Foreman - who had been solidly behind Vitali since the opening round and claimed in the 3rd or 4th that it would only take one punch to knock Lewis out - commented that Lewis had no respect for Vitali's power. We must then conclude that either Lewis's chin was stronger than people gave him credit for or else Vitali's punching power was not as effective as people gave him credit for.
I don't understand how people can think Lewis cut Vitali with his hair. That means either a) Lewis has steel dreadlocks or b) Vitali has wet tissue paper skin.
both Lennox's dreads are akin to Predator's dread laser sharpened weapons and Vitali's skin is paper thin as the cuts mutiplied all on there own without lennox's punches hitting Vitali's face at all. Only in Klit-land.:deal
It goes to show how dull the heavyweights have been when the biggest story is still a fight that took place over 10 years ago. Lewis TKO6
