When he beat Skinny I was heartbroken..he really gave him a beating. I saw a lot of holes in his game then, but he was a very impressive physical speciman no doubt about that. He has come along nicely..its still early days, its hard to say if he will keep ironing out those issues or he has peaked in regards to his technical ability.
tbh he was the first guy that popped into my head when I clicked onto this thread im going to hold off buying into these Japs hype until they are proven at the elite world level
Well that's pretty remarkably racist. Why not hold off on buying into these Mexicans', Americans', Ukrainians', Cubans', and Pinoys' hype until they're proven at the elite world level? Uchiyama and Hasegawa are completely different...their styles are not similar at all. And for the record, I'm getting sick of everyone with the "Hasegawa came up bust" schtick - it's as tired as it is ******ed in the first place. He's still elite, and he beats Montiel 8 out of ten times. He made a stupid mistake and got caught - after sweeping every round.
so many good fighters passed thru 130 without facing him. i always wanted to see like broner or garcia or salido fight him consequence of 4 titles in a global sport the best cant always logistically meet
Remember when we had to extract the alphanumeric code from the end of the URL and post it between an opening and closing bbcode tag in order to embed YT links? Good times.
I never even knew he'd retired. Fighting once a year against a bum on new years eve did the trick in making me forget about him.
For what it's worth, he scored incredibly well at 130 in my ongoing ranking experiment. Had he hung around another year, he may possibly have surpassed the top decade any guy at 130 ever achieved under the simple scoring criteria.
