Talking about yourself as the third person

Discussion in 'British Boxing Forum' started by redandwhiterob, Nov 28, 2012.

  1. Redandwhiterob is just wondering if there is any other sport apart from boxing where the participants take up this annoying trait

And who would you say are the worst offending boxers for doing this

Out of British fighters Hatton and Khan seem bad for it:yep

I think Froch has mentioned "the cobra" a few times.

its a bit different when you are referring to yourself in the 3rd person as your nickname like the rock or the cobra, its like superhero cartoonish style

but when you refer to your own name as yourself in the third person it properly pisses me off

in fact the worst is when someone refers to themself as 'he', there used to be some ***** at school who used to do that, rather than saying 'I've done it' when scoring a goal or something he would scream 'HES DONE IT LADS EEEES DONE IT'

    what a twat

  6. It's perhaps the only thing that put me off Ricky Hatton. The self-professed "normal bloke in the street" doesn't do that. And neither does AudleysBigRight.

:happy The Rock is just so good.

Can you imagine having a boxer with that sort of charisma who could also back it up between the ropes.

    Modern day Ali.

That would be so good, Michael300 would be over the moon.

If William Charlton was to say how he really feels about this, William Charlton would be banned.

Lennox Lewis was the king of this. Wouldn't it be funny if politicians started to do it.
