If you blame everything but yourself for your losses in the ring or in life.....then you have problems with responsibility.

There is nothing rhetorical about it, read this excert from his original post:

I'm not sure how his spats with his trainer, or his relationship with his wife feed into this statement, or the assertion that a dark cloud hangs over him.

Funny thing is that if someone wrote a post about Floyd and made this connection, both you and Reg would be up in arms and making the point that training and marital issues have little to do with a criminal act or a civil case.

Ther point is you continue to insinuate he went to Balco ONLY to get steroids. That he went WAY out of his eway to get them. At least man up and just outright state that instead of pussyfooting on that fence. And BTW, they DID deal with legal supplements as well.

Its the loose association that is problematic, you should understand this but I will help you.

ACB: Hey, you know, Floyd Mayweather Jr. slapped a woman outside of a nightclub a few years back and a dark cloud hangs over his head now. He has a history of not taking responsibility and making bad decisions.

    Toopretty:
    What history?

ACB: Well, he has had a lot of family problems. He fired his dad once as his trainer. He lets Leonard Ellerbe run too much of his business operation. One time, he made his uncle Roger quit his training job as Steve Forbes trainer just so that it didn't endanger his upcoming match. He curses a lot and ran a red stoplight on HBO. And if that isn't enough, he wanted to fight DLH and Hatton in meaningless rematches instead of wanting the fight fans wanted against Cotto.

Connection is plenty clear, right toopretty?

Yes they did deal with legal supplements, Ive stated that. BALCO labs INVENTED The Clear and The Cream, that was their SOLE purpose. Of course they are going to look like a legal supplement store.

Well? Do you think he INTENTIONALLY sought out Balco stricly for the illegal stuff?

I do not condone the use of steroids in professional sports. I also find the current prosecution of steriod abuses ludicrous, in that certain athletes get slaps on the wrist, while others find themselves facing hard time and public tar and featherings for committing virtually identical offenses.

Whatever your opinion about Shane Mosley as a man or a fighter, one thing cannot be disputed. His career at 154, with the possible exception of the second De La Hoya fight (although really, if we accused other boxers of doping based on Oscar fading late, we'd have a mighty long list) is an object lesson for why steroids, especially in the lighter weight classes, do not offer a competitive advantage in boxing. Mosley found himself fighting physically bigger men whose natural strength was stronger than his likely supplemented strength.

I understand the arguments regarding training recovery and stamina, but there's no getting around the fact that during the height of his steroid use, he was still ABSOLUTELY no match for Winky Wright. Some of this domination was due to styles, and BALCO may have gotten him prepared for these fights in an advantageous way, but they did nothing for him during the fights themselves. They only put him in a position to be soundly embarassed twice.

Bottom line, Shane's career was not helped by steroids, it was hindered immensely. Similar arguments can be made regarding Fernando Vargas. Young fighters can and should be able to take note of this without turning Shane's life post-boxing into another ill-conceived steroid witch hunt.

If Shane admits of this during the Hoya fight, all I will say is I felt u lost that fight anyway
