Im not sure how long Mundine has to wait for his shot at Sturm, but if he doesnt fight him next then he has to take on a decent international fighter after Taylor or at least fight Geale
If Mundine has Sturm lined up as rumoured, there's absolutely no way he'll face someone dangerous next up. It'd be madness to do so.
Personally, I can't see that happening. HBO or Showtime are unlikely to pick either of them up for a fight that will draw nobody to it, and even less viewers.
Neither Mundine or Sturm will risk fighting each other for a relatively low purse on a HBO undercard. Sturm is the champ, he was f#cked over in America against De La Hoya, so Mundine is simple going to have to fight him in Germany and make sure he wins decisively unless Anthony and Khoder throw crazy money at Sturm to get him to Australia.
To all those who have predicted an early Mundine stoppage, . . . what planet are you living on? Judging by his past 4 perfomances, Mundine couldn't crack an egg. He has been floored and hurt by smaller opponents out of their division. His power is soooooo overrated. His KO's have all come up against smaller and second rate fighters (please don't mention Soliman 2, . . . the guy should be a light middleweight). . . and as for his last KO, if you want to watch a comedy just watch the Clavero fight, absolutely laughable KO. This will just be another boring UD for Mundine. . .typical low work rate, occasionaly will throw in a 1-2 combination and fight for about 20 seconds a round, just enough to win the rounds. Then he'll declare he's ready to fight the best out there at middleweight, and then proceed to fight Crazy Kim's cousin. I hope Taylor has enough fight in him to make it interesting and make Mundine show some heart (which he has not had to before), but I seriously doubt it.
Mundine couldn't punch his way through a mould of jelly these days. I wouldn't be surprised if Taylor just drops his hands and enjoys the facial massage that'll come his way. Mundine UD.
Actually Mundine's power is not overrated at all. I think we all realise he's not a KO artist by any means.
Mundine's needs a KO this fight to spark more interest into his middleweight campaign with fight fans. I remember when he knocked out Waters just before the Ottke bout, it really got people talking. Something like that is needed and to do that to Taylor, quite a well known Aussie fighter could do the trick!
Mundine will ko Taylor, Taylor has little punch resistnd has been stopped by guys like Julian Holland. Mundines last few opponents may not be good but They have far better chins than Taylor. One punch KO in this fight, Whenever Mandy lwants to. Taylor has been in 50/50 fights with below par club fighters recentlyatschatsch
